yet approval numbers within the republican party don’t seem to have flinched
Sure. But do you really expect the news to start getting better? At some point, removal under the 25th might be the only way to contain who ends up in prison when all this settles (not to mention, saves seats in Congress and perhaps even the 2020 Presidential).
It's delusional to think the GOP would do that. They haven't shown 1/10th of the guts it would take for that and anyone Republican who attempted to do so might as well pack their office once Trump's base finds out.
But again - what are the chances we've seen the worst of it? 0.3%? 0.03%?

The dithering about on whether to begin an impeachment inquiry always seemed to fail to ask this question. There was a nearly-zero chance that an inquiry would not reveal much worse stuff than was known to date.

I'm not arguing people will find their guts, or their principles. Just that at some point (just like in another conversation we're having), the instinct for self-preservation will kick in.

Could everyone just "foe" count and/or not reply to him so I don't have to see his crap in those replies?

TIA

Self preservation is already kicking in. GOP politicians that go against Trump are soon-to-be ex-politicians.

I would, but reading Imz' posts helps me deal with DC's absence more better.

I just think it's headed a different direction than that. We'll see!

And I think its wishful thinking while ignoring just how brainwashed Trump's base is. Like I said, just 4 in 10 believed that Trump mentioned Biden in that call despite a transcript of the call being released by Trump that clearly shows that he did. They have taken "alternative facts" to new highs (or lows depending on how you see it).

my wife just returned from 2.5 days spent with her grandma in rural eastern nebraska

the brainwashing is so incredibly strong, and even worse for people living in areas such as that, with little options to escape from both the political and religious echo chambers

Trump's greatest skill remains his ability to pick adversaries.

That may be. But Schiff clearly lied about it, innocently or otherwise, which, like every thing else he does, simply feed's Trump's narrative.

Trump doesn't need a narrative. His brainwashed sycophants will just latch on to the next shining object he points towards them.

Shifty Adam Shift trying to usurp the will of the American people. He should be in jail.
