Unless I am way off, I think that was sort of the point Illi.
Back in 2012 Trump was questioning and criticizing something he felt Obama did during Obama's presidency - and then doing the same thing he accused and criticized Obama of doing.
He wanted the media to investigate and report on Obama doing it but then blames the media for investigating and reporting him doing it.
