Not too sure what brining his girlfriend and agent in to the locker room have to do with anything.
My guess is its as simple as he wanted to see them and they wanted to see him.
The way he walked to the locker room seemed very encouraging to me. I hope my assessment is right and he isn't out for too long.

Erin Andrews was there when Wentz tore ACL. Said mood is a lot different around Chiefs tonight than with Eagles when Wentz went down. Chiefs seem to not be too concerned compared to the worry Eagles team had with Wentz.

He is in the locker room hugging and high fiving his teammates with a knee brace on. Now the MRI will tell all but that just doesn’t feel like a guy who is facing a season ending surgery.

Despite all of that. That may have been the best defensive performance from the Chiefs I have seen in recent years.

Also it should be criminal (and slightly hilarious) what Horseteeth Elway has done to the Broncos.

When Garrapolo tore ACL last year, James Palmer with NFL Network was in lockeroom when team found out it was ACL. Mentioned demeanor was down and sad. He said tonight, it didn’t seem even close to that. No change in demeanors from team, Mahomes or his family.

From all preliminary reports from multiple reporters, it seems like it’s a disc listed kneecap. And timeframe is maybe a month. Chiefs can survive that.

I think the best realistic scenario is that it's a month long injury and we hold him out until after the bye.
5-2 with GB ( loss ), Min ( loss ), @ TEN ( maybe? ) and v LAC in Mexico City ( maybe? ).
If you can make it to 6-5 you come out of the bye with OAK, DEN, LAC and @ Chi and @ NE.
