By the time the impeachment actions are done there will only be months left in his Presidency. I'd rather Trunp get beat at the voting booth rather than be removed.

And BTW, where TF are Trump's tax returns? Where? You can see 24 years of Hillary and Bill's tax returns if you want. Maybe, if principled, "conservative" republicans hadn't been so obsequious and let him get away without showing them, maybe we wouldn't be here as a country now... Left to wonder, AGAIN, why it seems that nearly everything Trump does leads to some benefit for Putin?

japhy wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2019 9:42 am It seems kind of quiet out there. Where are the lulz? They are getting more faint I fear.

There are really very few responses left for the right right now.

"Let the voter's decide!" Let me just throw this simile out there. This is like arguing that we should let a heroin addict who was just picked up by the police standing in the middle of rush hour traffic screaming about ants crawling all over them, decide whether or not they want to continue shooting heroin. There are legit reasons for an intervention, national security is a pretty good one. Considering the abuse of power already done, why would we wait for something catastrophic to happen?

"But, but, but.....this is not the sort of thing you overturn an election over!" OK, list five legit reasons for impeaching a president. If National Security or Abuse of Power isn't in your list of five; then let's discuss your list some more.

"My tax cuts! WTF is going to happen to my tax cuts?" OK, I hear you now. Maybe a deal can be worked out with Pelosi to leave those in place for a few years in return for helping to kick tiny to the curb. I implore you DC, stop sucking up to tiny and start sucking up to Pelosi now! Suck up like my tax cuts depend on it you sleazy bitch!

"Only hearing first hand accounts of the phone call now! Where are the half and quarter hand accounts of the phone calls? " Meh, we are probably beyond that. Leave that argument to Tucker and Ingraham.

"Process!". Yeah I think this one is done now as well. Only the Fox News rubes are buying that any more and no need to work on their support as it is proven to be unconditional. Quit wasting energy working to keep the cockle burr that is already deeply embedded in your sock, and the trumpublicans need more than just that group at this point.

There may be more but I got go. There is a discussion of a big merger later today and I am the champion of this idea, so I need to get my head in the game for that discussion.

Have some self-respect. A presidential candidate is asking us to hire them to run our country. Our country. The power that accrues with the job over us as Americans and across the world is staggering, immense. Every president since Gerald Ford has made their tax returns available. Why didn't Trump? What did he have to hide? To have the reassurance, (not certainty), that a person asking for such power does not have conflicts of interest, is the least a candidate/president should be willing to offer. Why don't you think we deserve to know? I know Trump and his republican enablers have done everything they can to lower our expectations, but we don't have to go along. Not long ago Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm in rural Georgia after he was elected in order to avoid even the hint of any conflicts of interest during his presidency. We deserve to know, and if you don't agree, my heart goes out to you, and us.

Hey, I'm with you....I think he should have released his tax returns....but there's just not the type of info it sounds like you're expecting to see within "tax returns".

The type of info it sounds like you're wanting to see would be found in audited financial statements or balance sheets or bank records....but his personal tax returns will mainly be useful for a laundry list of LLCs....you'd need the business returns for each entity to see the ownership breakdown on K1s and such (which we could and should request also).

It just seems like some people think they're going to be able to see transactional type info in "tax returns".

how would folks react if, say, his tax records show he's indebted to a bunch of shady foreigners? How would republicans spin it?

what ever happened to that Douche bank story, anyway?

That's not really what is shown on "tax returns".

Which is exactly why I sort of eye roll when people say that (which I think could very well be true) and think "tax returns" is where they'll be able to discover it.

Honestly if I had to guess, I'd say trump is more worried about what's NOT shown in his "tax returns" than he is worried about what IS shown in his "tax returns".

They'd definitely show that.

They'd also probably show he doesn't pay much in taxes.
