And then won't pursue a medical RS for him.
I like how Leawood is only present in a scenario where the game is at Sprint Center.

You hope it is a fluke and not some sort of physical abnormality. Almost the best case is that he had been playing thru pain on a hairline fracture he had not said anything about.

Another board. Self always has a luncheon for Williams Funds members this time of year at the downtown KC Marriott and drops nuggets. I imagine it will go public soon, if not today.punkrockhawk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 3:40 pmWhere did you hear this? I couldn't find anything on it.

Eh, let him have wandering eyes. I don't have time for any more nonsense than this nonsense.

Navajo?
Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
'It will take six weeks for the bone to heal, period, then after six weeks he can run in the water up to his waist. It’s an 8 to 10-week period to come back. I think redshirt is the smart play unless something else happens (to team) from an injury standpoint. There’s no reason to come back (this season) if he’s not going to be in the rotation. That’s the way I see it and the family sees it,” Self noted.
Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
So: Play him. Burn the year. There's far too much uncertainty about what we'll even be playing for in the next year or two to worry about it.
Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
I mean, I guess.
But do we really gain anything by adding him at this point, other than emergency playing time.
We didn't play Enaruna or Braun against Texas, and they'd surely be quite a ways ahead of Wilson at this point.
I mean, if he was a PG, I might feel differently. But what do we get out of another wing player who's a freshman and way behind?

Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
Well I think if he contributes positively in even just 1 game, that it would be worth it. It's rare that a top 50 kid stays for 4 whole years and the outcome is positive.
Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
This is reductive, but: we get another wing player. And one considerably higher-regarded than Enaruna. If he's a better option at the 4 (which I think is the case), then add him.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 12:20 pmI mean, I guess.

Re: Jalen Wilson Injury:
Well, addmittedly this is flawed because the sample size is one game, but both Enaruna and Braun played more minutes than Wilson against Dook (The one full game he was available for).jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 12:23 pmThis is reductive, but: we get another wing player. So...if Enaruna was ahead of him as the small ball 4, I'm not sure how Wilson could have passed him in the time was injured and not playing.
I can't make a compelling argument for the benefits of redshirting him...I just don't know how much better it makes us if he plays this year.
