So was Bill Clinton. Look how much good that did.

We all know that Trump is a "projectionist" (not as in...a movie theater employee). Didn't realize that his sycophants were either!HouseDivided wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 5:49 pmIt reminds me of the old story about the dog chasing the car. What would he do with it if he caught it? In Nancy's case, look around innocently and say "Car? What car?!? I never wanted a car."

My bad. Congrats on your spectacularly successful botched impeachment attempt. Let me know if it ever becomes official.zsn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 8:37 pmWe all know that Trump is a "projectionist" (not as in...a movie theater employee). If it wasn't for the fact that Trump's doctor said he's the healthiest person alive, I'd be worried about a cardiac episode over the next few weeks/months if Pelosi doesn't send the articles of impeachment to the Senate soon. Did anybody else catch how red his face was even before he began his campaign speech in Michigan?

He has been impeached and will remain impeached.

She didn't seem to have dementia last night when she put the Mama Eye on her young members using an index card.
Trump is raving about exploding dishwashers and lightbulbs and saying that beloved dead politicians are in hell, in their home state, to their widow. The loss of the control that would keep one from insulting a recent widow in her husband's home state in an ugly campaign rally--that's dementia. Shame on you for trying to diminish that disgusting performance with your whataboutism.
I've had the experience of moderating a public forum and having a guy criticise my deceased husband for not being objective in a local issue, which aggravated me, but I would be plate throwing angry had someone said he was in hell.

The alternative is to give it to the Senate, which will call no witnesses, vote by party line, and Republicans will claim it exonerates the President and the Democrats were wasting everyone's time.
Or, she does this, and can claim they impeached, but the Republicans in the Senate are complicit in the obstruction unless they agree to subpoena Mulvaney/Bolton/Rudy/Pompeo. Trump doesn't get his victory - and he might get so incensed that he gives the ok for those guys to talk, assuming (maybe correctly) that the Senate will still acquit.
Option B seems way better.

BTW, to rid Geezer of his (usual) misconceptions.
He ain't impeached 'til the charges are delivered.
Or, so says Democratic impeachment witness...

so what you're saying is, she's threatening to withhold terms that congress voted in favor of unless they agree to investigate her political rivals?
Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
but for real, thanks. I was trying to understand her strategy.
I just wonder if it'll backfire. I dunno if now's the time to get cute, considering how concerned republicans are about DuE pRoCeSs! but hey, republicans have already been bitching about due process either way, so what difference does it make?
"insisted on actual testimony" probably rings louder in history than, "hastily acquitted in kangaroo court."
it's wild how many Mericans are apparently either indifferent or opposed to hearing from the individuals in question. Can we get Barr up there too?

I'm not sure I understand how it would backfire - instant death in the Senate with no witnesses called is the worst political outcome for the Democrats.ousdahl wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 12:26 am but for real, thanks. I was trying to understand her strategy.

Under normal circumstances, you'd be right. But, with a malignant, (antisocial) narcissist in the WH, a man who views the social landscape as an enormous zero-sum contest that he will do anything, anything to "win" in order to prop up his fragile sense of self worth and sate his pathological need for affirmation, anything less than vindication - acquittal by the senate, will weigh heavily on his uber vulnerable, adolescent psyche. That being the case, depending on Trump's self-control aptitude, (lulz), time is unlikely to be MoscowMitch's friend.
