Maybe my own experience has, um, what's the opposite of jaded... Made me appreciate this stuff. You pay less for groceries because the grocer makes a far better margin selling your data to suppliers. And those people don't care about you - they just care about what you buy in relation to your demographic. Big data is usually a win-win thing.
