Political division amongst ourselves

The division was nearly as bad with the last nincompoop. The difference was, those of us who didn't like the last nincompoop didn't throw nearly as big a fit as those who don't like the current nincompoop.

The difference to me is that 98% of the shit that people threw hissy fits about with Obama was silly BS while it seems like there are serious things that really do need to have people freaked out happening on a regular basis under Trump.

Yes, this has resulted in too many people freaking out over silly BS but still. The pure volume and frequency of alarmingly questionable actions under Trump is unsettling. And unfortunately, the people freaking out over the silly BS has resulted in too many people ignoring the people freaking out over the actually important stuff that should be freaked out over.

What you perceived as silly BS was serious to me, and what I now perceive as silly BS is serious to you. There's no difference aside from your position in the equation.

Yes, MarineHoldingUmbrellaGate, DijonMustardGate and DidntWearASuitJacketGate etc... were all very serious items that needed to spend hours and hours on Fox News.

The key word here is "perceived". What is important to me doesn't have to be important to you and vice versa. It offended me that he kept apologizing to other countries on my behalf and that his actions compromised U.S. sovereignty in the world. That may have actually been good from where you stand. That's the beauty of our electoral system: we each get an opportunity to be happy every four years.

It's not just politics. Social media has people attacking friends, family, associates, strangers, corporations, famous people, pretty much anyone about pretty much anything. Some people just like the power of venting their thoughts on others and hearing people agree with them.

We live in a day where some build and cultivate their digital persona to a point where it has become it's own near-living organism. It's psychotic. Being the digital tough guy that "says it like it is" is part of their digital persona. That isnt unique to politics.

True, it's not unique to politics. Social media / smartphones, etc, have become the cocaine for weak and boring people in society. It's not really the tools, but rather, people don't observe their addictions and allow themselves to become sucked into becoming another robot involved in outrage culture. But people need to step out of their team and start looking at the actual issues in a consistent way.
