Lance is like the local band that shows up at a bar you were enjoying a fun conversation with, at which you JUST ordered a big pitcher for the table, and proceeds to blare bad originals.

I had never heard of this guy before the wvu game. I don't like him very much.

Well, you already ordered the pitcher, so suffer through it.

It feels more like Illy ordered the Carling's Black Label pitcher, and I had to pay for it.

He's a Kansas kid.
We could have two Kansas kids starting eventually.
I care about this as much as I care about our head coaches having some past KU connection.

I don’t think it “matters” and I certainly “don’t care“ if they are not Kansans... but I absolute do care, or enjoy the additional bonus that he’s 1. A homegrown kid. 2. A legacy player. Doesn’t make the team better or worse, but it certainly adds seasoning to the stories we’re here for. KU basketball is never just basketball.

Sure - I think "bonus" is the right word. Adds seasoning. Agree.

Sure. Same way that 4 year players add more story than a One and Done, but certainly recruiting Embiids are equal or greater for the program success as the Simiens.

Give me a kid from Kansas succeeding over a kid from anywhere else.
So yes, bonus, but it's a big bonus for me.

I was high on Braun all summer thinking he'd be our most ready to play frosh, but who would have thought that what we might benefit the most from is his ability to rebound?
I'm having a hard time finding an analog for him. He really does seem to have great instincts. He's also got a healthy amount of swagger. I love the guts to take those threes off the bounce.
His swagger in HS reminded me of Hinrich.

Game is a little different, but he is an off-guard that used to be a PG, like Kirk.

Unless it’s FaceAss. Amirite?

It will always win for me too. But I have equal love for guys like BIFM and ‘Vonte who fall in love with the place in the same regards / respect that we do.

I liked Morningstar enough.
He did fuck up royally with his DUI the DAY after the football/basketball throw down.
Frank Mason might be my favorite Jayhawk ever but there's something about a kid growing up in Kansas, committing, and playing his dream.

I don’t care if we have 13 KS/KC kids or zero.

It just rubs me raw when we don’t get one that we recruit hard. The Ballock and JRE’s of the world.

Don’t give a shit about Cauley, Ojeye, dean wade or the hayseed from Maize that plays for ISU—didn’t recruit ‘em.

If a junior Braun throws an alley oop to a senior Ochai for the title, I can pass on from this earth.
I will be at peace.
