Read some interesting theorizing by an American who lives in Europe, who wondered if someone inside Iran wanted Soleimani gone, by sending him out of home territory where he would be untouchable, onto foreign soil. In some Iranian rival's eyes, would that make it easier for things like removing sanctions, getting rid of the gung-ho guy who was known for killing? Noted that it would have been easy for us to get the message to Soleimani to take the next plane home, where he would be untouchable, unlike being on foreign soil in Iraq.

But the bait offered to Trump was too tempting not to take, as those back in Iran would have known it would be.

Even aside from the Iran shit, daily hoping for disaster or for the economy to dip so they can come say "told you so".

Their hate for trump causes them to hope for bad stuff so they can blame trump.

What about the sons and daughters lives who were saved by eliminating a dangerous threat who hates the United States and has been the brains of operations that facilitated the deaths of countless Americans? Those lives already lost and hypothetical (likely) future deaths matter also.

The fact that the Iranians (and other enemies) will respond to our actions doesn't mean we can never take action.

Iran is fully capable of not shooting down commercial airplanes. This isn't on the United States at all.

So should we kill all white gun owners who participate on 8chan and say "what about all the sons and daughters lives who were saved because one of these guys might commit a mass shooting at some point"?

Preemptive murder is not OK unless there is a true threat of an imminent threat. If Trump had true evidence of that, he would have shared it in the briefings with Congress.

He didnt even mention a threat to our embassy (or is it 4?) in those briefings.

Trump is a Putin asset. The question might be what does Putin gain out of this? Having spent a good deal of my life living in oil states, I always look to where the Oil $$$ will flow. Does this mean an immediate hike in oil prices that eases Putin's economy?

Also, there've been demonstrations against the Iranian government, the people getting a little touchy. We know that Putin, from his early background in Germany, has a great fear of mobs and rowdy crowds of the citizenry. What could be better than to unite the Iranian people against a great foe?

And we know that Donald does whatever Putin says.
