I have an idea - just wondering.

This should be the easiest path the Chiefs will ever have at a super bowl. I think this is their year. So many good things have happened in the Chiefs favor.

Is the league's leading rusher playing for the team that already won at New England and at Baltimore really "easy"?

Chiefs run defense has been suspect all season. They need a decent game plan that is more than counting on Mahomes to score 51 points next week.

No. but then again, that's not what he said either.

I doubt if dropping multiple easy 3rd down conversions, getting a punt blocked for a TD, fumbling a punt return inside the ten and forgetting to cover a streaking receiver for a 50+ yard TD to open the game were part of the game plan.

No question. There is such a thing as going to the well too many times, though.

The Chiefs basically played the same game as they did against the Titans in reverse today. Henry was a load last time, but Mahomes had the brakes punched too soon. Should be a great game though

Lets list the worst case scenario for the Chiefs
1. Your defense looks like they miss Juan really badly on a blown coverage
2. Your offense, specifically Kelce, who as great as he is hasn't had the greatest of playoff games looks shaky and tight
3. You get a punt blocked for a TD
4. See 2 except with D-Rob
5. You give up a punt return fumble

Before the game I said with Mahomes anything is possible. I didn't know if THAT was possible. Yesterday was a great reminder for the rest of the league that when Mahomes is healthy is he far and away the best and most lethal player in the NFL.

I will say I hope this is the wake up call for the Chiefs. A start like that against the Titans might be a death blow.

Yeah, due to injuries and a seemingly inaccurate narrative of the Chiefs offense being worse, some people kind of forgot how good Mahomes is and that he is the reigning MVP.

Lots of praise to Jackson, deservedly so. Lots of praise to Russell Wilson, which I get. Lots of praise to Watson, dude is a gamer. But Mahomes was just kind of forgotten about. He didn't have the 400 yard games, he didn't have the left handed pass, or the no look passes. But he was as efficient as hell and as Yahoo NFL Writer and former KC Star writer Terez Paylor said, Mahomes has that "Over my dead body" type of attitude in games.

And that came out yesterday. He basically said I got this. Chill out. Let's roll.

They went on a 51-7 run from the moment it was 24-0 with just under 11 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. A 51-7 run in just 41 minutes of game action! Absolutely insane.

Also, defense won't be noticed much because of what the offense did, but they were so damn good outside of that blown coverage on the first drive. They're only significant drive after that blown coverage TD was a 9 play 75 yard drive. To a healthy Texans offense.

51?
Mahomes didn't score a single point yesterday.

I was watching Peyton's Place on ESPN+ (yay! streaming!) and Peyton and Brady were hanging out. (also that is a great series and this episode in particular was amazing) Peyton asked Brady who were his favorite QBs growing up and he mentioned Montana because he felt like every time Joe dropped back he was in control. I get that same feeling watching Mahomes.

Negatives:
Ward had an awful game.
Toub needs to stick with Hardman and he better shore up that punt team. That is inexcusable to let a jail break, right through the middle happen like that. Again...

But yet, they shot fireworks at end of game.. Some showmanship going on there, and I love it.

Chiefs Social team and in-game experiences have been really good lately. They make the games fun to go to, they do fun things on twitter and other sites for those at home and the team is doing their part to make it fun too.

Watching this makes me wish the Chiefs would have scored 90 points yesterday.
