8 in the box.
Chris Jones don’t play pickup basketball.
Word is that Jones sucks against the run. Maybe it's a positive if he doesn't play, like the Houston game.
Yeah, he likes to shoot gaps and freelance a bit. Opens up lanes for runnings backs. The DT Chiefs has for Houston game are ideal. They hold their ground, don’t do too much and help the LB fill the gaps to make plays.
He’s a great player, but teams can go at him knowing he’ll do his own thing at some point and leave a lane wide open.

Only thing that could make me think the Titans have a legitimate chance is a Mahomes injury.
Takes some parsing of "legitimate chance" - it should be noted that the Titans beat Mahomes this year, with Mahomes playing a statistically-excellent game - but yes, I think the only way a Chiefs loss isn't a stunning failure is if Mahomes gets knocked out.
What gives me ‘hope’ that there is a chance is that games are played week-to-week. last weekend’s result won’t guarantee similar results.
Houston, for example, in my mind, when up 24-0 was riding the ‘momentum’ of the previous week’s comeback against the Bills.
Then, almost inexplicably, O’Brien made a couple calls that made zero sense and showed panic, almost as if they didn’t prepare to be up big. That, coupled with the muffed kick, and there it is.
Most likely, those type of events don’t happen again, and the way the Titans have been ready with a game plan and executed that game plan is something the Chiefs haven’t seen in a minute. The Pats at NE was the last real ‘hard’ game the Chiefs played, and as we all know, NE’s talent this year is suspect at best.
The Chiefs are far more talented than the Titans. They should win easily, and I suspect the line moves closer to 9 with most money going that way. Despite this, Tennessee has found it’s stride, seemingly, and it’s been amazing to watch. The likes of CnB and others who said ‘this is a team no one wants to face’ can now point to results and demonstrate why.
All of this might not matter, though, bc the Chiefs are that good, and if they find true magic like the last 41 minutes Sunday, Most of you are gonna have a great late January into February.
Texans have nothing to lose and much like they have done all playoffs should embrace that underdog role.
The game on Sunday is pretty simple. Chiefs get out to an early lead and slow down Henry it will be the greatest party in KC history. (that includes the Royals winning it all) They let the Titans hang around and Henry gets going we will be talking about how the Chiefs blew the franchises greatest chance to advance to a place they haven't been since the 70s.
I do agree that Jones has a tendency to free lance which against a team that runs zone schemes can KILL you. That being said I would rather have him for situational pass rushing or the Titans having to double team him then not. Now if he can't go I trust Pennel, Williams, Nadi and Saunders to get the job done.

I don't think the Chiefs making the Super Bowl will be a bigger party than the Royals winning a World Series.
You're mistaken. Chiefs have a wider fanbase than the Royals, and I don't think it's close.
But I am just focused on Sunday.
Heard a good comparison yesterday. Felt like the Chiefs game was an early round game for a high seed in NCAA Tournament. Low seed comes out on fire. Gets out to best start imaginable. High seed is tight and makes mistakes they usually don't. Then after the first 10 minutes of the game, the high seed takes over and it becomes a blowout, and they ride that to the end after weathering that storm. Ala KU against Penn in Wichita during the Final 4 year. It was bleak for a while. Then KU just flexed their muscles and did well and rode the momentum all the way to the Final 4.
Felt like that happened Sunday. Chiefs took the low seed's shot. Weathered it. Flexed their muscles. Now riding an unbelievable wave of momentum to next week.

You don’t think the residents of Lawrence won’t take to Mass street the way they do when KU makes a final four? I know that’s not winning a WS, but let’s start there for comparative predictions.
I also agree that I think the Chiefs have a wider fanbase than the Royals.
Not sure going to the Super Bowl will be a bigger party but taking the next step after that would.
Houston fans were basically non-existent in town last weekend. I don't know that there will be many more Tennessee fans here as I assume the Chiefs' fans won't let the tickets go as they were given first dibs. But, perhaps they travel better.
I already have made tentative plans to leave town Feb. 8 weekend. I could probably AirBNB my place for a good amount.
Hide the women and children. Quantrill rides again.
Maybe a slight exaggeration by winning on Sunday but if they do win the whole thing KC will explode.
Anyone on the board going to the game? I have a total of six wanting to go but prices are insanely stupid. On Sunday night we all thought $250 was the budget. Plenty of seats available right now so my guess is that by Friday the corner 3s will be around $260i'sh.

Buddy I was going to go with having house party now bc of prices. I’ll be the contrarian there. I still want to go to game, and I know many of you think I’m the opposition douche, or perhaps just a douche in general, but I, myself, am looking for a single ticket.
I’m hopeful (but doubt) 24 degree temps will lower prices Saturday into Sunday.
I don’t think there will be many titans fans there. Not really a good fan base, tbh. I’m sure with this it’s different, but day to day Nashville is meh about Titans it seems. Wife and I travelled to Broncos game a few years ago, and 40% had Manning jerseys on (he had retired), and another 20% Von Miller jerseys. Blech.
Titans play Donkholes next year. It’s here, which made me said. Nashville is such a great weekend destination. Even more so than Vegas at this point, which you all as a fan base will have the opportunity to visit once a year as opposition fans moving forward.
As long as you don't care about where you sit because you are only looking for one you stand a good chance of getting in on the cheap.
This is going to be an expensive ticket either way but my reasoning is they have a lot of tickets right now that aren't moving. People want to go, but like you and I we all have a price. If I'm a company like Tickets for Less I would rather get something than nothing and I'm assuming even the nothing will still be a profit.

Not a fan of Nash-Vegas, but also wouldn't be pumped about a Las Vegas NFL weekend, either.
We did a bit of honky tonkin, but done by 11, asleep by midnight. Got Groupon to some old plantation house and road tripped on Saturday to Memphis to do Graceland, see the Mississippi. Living here for so long now, driving through the woods of Tennessee is an experience inand of itself.

Will Jones really be as inclined to freelance vs. Ryan Tannehill? It's obvious that running the ball is Plan A for the Titans. Why would Jones dismiss that and try to get to Tannehill?

Because once run is established it opens up play-action, which Titans have executed well.
