This week in feminism...
Re: This week in feminism...
Sad how hysterical this places becomes when 3 or 4 people dare to disagree on some topics and actually make statements based on logic. You can see some of that behavior in that video being expressed here by a lot (if not most) of the people (and sadly, most of the "men" on here). No one has countered anything I've written -- it's just outraged reactions.

You 2 make a cute couple.
Which of you is President of the "He Man-Women Haters Club"?
I guess you don't understand that when I say cute, it is more like when I would say "cute" when I see a girl in bib overalls...or a small dog humping a stuffed animal.
I just think you and Lobster make a cute couple. We can always count on one of the 3 of you, Lobster and Illanoy to jump in and play defense for any of the 3 of you, usually within a minute or 2.
That kind of love and care for each other is rare in todays world.
This is just my personal opinion, but you 3 are literally peas in a pod. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

"Tonight In Feminism!"
Rachel Maddow interviews Trump and Rudy bff Lev Parnas tonight on MSNBC. It would be better if he wasn't such a sleazebag, but we say that everyday about our president, and I suspect Lev has "documents".

Maybe he has documents.
But neither the House nor the Senate would help him with immunity for the documents.
Plus, Trump broke Maddow. (Hi, Kellyfenton!)

And yet here you sit criticizing her for exercising her right to free speech because you disagree with her lifestyle. Page after page of critiques on her annoying voice, her hysterical mannerisms and her intolerant views.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:37 pmAnswer: Because someone else's free speech might disagree with my lifestyle and/or opinions, and that would be intolerable.

And for the record, I posted about that video once. Whatever else comprises “page after page of critiques” is not my doing.

You're right, my bad. It was Lobster stating that she needed to get off social media, change her attitude, realize how fortunate she is and work on her speaking manner.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:55 pmAnd yet nowhere in anything I have written do I state or imply that she should be deprived of her right to bray and carp to her heart’s content.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:45 pmAnd yet here you sit criticizing her for exercising her right to free speech because you disagree with her lifestyle. How is her desire to silence free speech any different from yours?lobster wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:35 pm I did listen to the video, and there's a lot I could focus on. At the basic level, this women needs to get off social media, she needs to start realizing how fortunate she is so she can change her attitude, and she needs to work on how she talks (get rid of the aggressiveness, etc.).
It's not all women's fault that we have women like this in society. It's equally men's fault because real men have not stepped up to not tolerate this kind of hysterical behavior. But it's a challenge because anytime men say something that is remotely critical of women, the mob of hysterical women try to shout it down. Thankfully, we have the internet, and logic can win out.
While I wouldn't attend a men's rights event, I don't understand why women want to silence free speech. That's super dangerous, and that's what she wants because she knows some of what they say at these events likely is describing her behavior.
"This woman needs to stay off social media"
"She needs to work on how she talks"
You're spreading the same message, just under the guise of "truth and logic". She feels passionately about her opinion and you feel that yours is logical. It's no different.

Re: This week in feminism...
Every person walking this earth has some group of people who fundamentally disagree with how they are going about their journey on this planet. Mother Theresa had detractors for crying out loud. It's not a desire for righteousness; it's just an awareness of differences. I have many "redneck" friends and relatives. I want very few of their lives. And trust me, the vast majority of them look WAY down on "rich, uppity, educated know it all's" like you and I. That righteousness issue runs both ways.
Is my life better off as a direct result of the education I have received? Yes, so I hope that educational opportunities are made more attainable to all. If others dont feel that there life is better off by becoming more educated then so be it. At least that should be their choice.
Is my life less stressful as a direct result of having access to higher paying jobs that I know will be around for my entire working career? Yes, so I hope that those types of employment opportunities are made more readily available to anyone who wants them. If they dont want the same, so be it. Again, they should have that choice.
I dont feel like the current state of the Republican Party values education. It is one of the first line items cut in most local and state republican budgets. I don't know of any profession where knowing less information is better.
I don't feel like this big push to pump up the manufacturing job market is anything more than a vote purchase. Those arent sustainable jobs. They HAVE to go away eventually. A company cannot increase revenue by continually raise the price of a good. Eventually expenses must be slashed and that means eliminating jobs that can be automated. Continuing to push those jobs without building in some sort of off ramp for those people is NOT in their best interest but Trump shoved a $1000 tax break in their pocket, patted them on the head and said "they're out to steal your way of life, so vote for me!" and people have bought his con.
None of this is about me wanting to feel superior to others. The vast majority of my personal political platform is about a desire for all others to have at the very least, the opportunity to pursue as enjoyable and comfortable of a life as I have now and then some.

1. Where did I say I want to silence her free speech?
2. She should get off social media because it makes her marriage look bad and any normal husband would not want to be embarrassed by her behavior. I honestly feel sorry for him. I didn't say she should not have a right to speak. It's not the same thing...
3. Her talking is based in sarcasm, regret, resentment, etc -- and she's very loud. Not attractive qualities.
4. lol, I've just demonstrated how we are not the same. No need to explain further.
Re: This week in feminism...
So, you just want her to speak in a manner you personally find more attractive and appealing so that all of the men involved are not embarrassed or uncomfortable. Got it. Thanks for clarifying.
Re: This week in feminism...
Exactly. There are other ways communicate and express views than just acting hysterical and out of control.
