My one prediction regarding the Titans I feel fairly confident in is that we have a ‘tone setting’ physical play that is probably on the filthy side of dirty.

It’s as likely to fire up Titan D as it is to ignite Chiefs though, I’m afraid. Sunday was a spectacle to behold, and to not be terrified of that offense would be pure folly.

The Pats gave up 14 points having a bunch of DBs out there. Henry had a ton of yards, but they prevented the big passing plays and they held them to 14 offensive points. That'll do it. Hell, even if the Chiefs hold them to 24 points, that's good enough for them to win.
Yeah, my fear is that Vrabel decides to try to get into a track meet in the first half which a much more skilled team (at th e risk of sounding blasphemous, ALA KU ‘88 vs OU). Then see where shit lands and punch punch punch in second half, reducing possessions and mitigating the explosiveness KC has shown.

I don’t think that works. I think Titans try this, most of you past wasted by start of 4th quarter, and those of you with the option to do so are trying to make babies.

Line moved from 7.5 to 7. Exact opposite of what I thought would happen.

Wonder if it moves opposite today.

I like to nibble here and there and I'm not going to touch this game. I could see it being a close 4 point game, or a game with a margin of about 20 points.

Really tough to gauge what will happen.

Same with SanFran and Green Bay. Those lines are really big.

I wanted to put down some decent money in Ravens game, but had no outlet.

I’m with ya on this one, I have no compelling feelings Nd either way, and the direction instinct is taking me won’t let me dare act on that.

Chiefs DL Chris Jones (calf) didn't practice again Thursday.
Jones is considered "day to day" but doesn't appear to be particularly close to 100 percent at the moment. Limited snaps would certainly be a strong possibility if Jones is ultimately able to suit up Sunday against the Titans. Jones' presence would help the Chiefs' run-funnel defense slow down Derrick Henry, but Patrick Mahomes and the offense are still plenty capable of leading the team to victory with or without their stud d-lineman.

Yeah from what I've heard, he's improved, but not enough to have a full load placed on him yet. I expect him to be on a snap count Sunday, but fully healthy for the Super Bowl if they were to win.

Will this be the year the Chiefs don't blow it? I think so. I have a 2008 kind of feeling.

I will. Tickets, like the projected temps are falling like a rock. Upper corners were 320 on Monday and are now 250’ish.

I would assume he doesn’t practice tomorrow and thus Jones will be another game time decision.

Yeah I noticed that today. Imma wait until Sunday to decide what I want to do.

Jones isn't really a run stuffer and that is priority number 1.

This is correct. In fact some puzzling inactives hurt the run defense IIRC.

Also, I want the refs to protect Mahomes. Watching the egregious Wentz hit, this is the “physical” bush league play I fear from a lesser team.

Wentz’s own coach said it wasn’t dirty, was an unfortunate thing that happens in football, and no penalty should be assessed.

As for the ‘lesser’ comment, no doubt Chiefs have more talent in skill positions. We will see if that is the deciding factor. Conventional wisdom says it probably should be. I’m just glad I don’t feel the need to surmise situations like you do. It’s a horrible way to fan IMO.

Today a big practice day for Chiefs and Titans.

Chiefs looking for if Chris Jones is a limited participant. He basically has to do this in order to be questionable for the game.

Titans had their RT, Conklin added to report on Thursday with a shoulder injury and he was limited.

Chiefs are likely going to have 1 guy be questionable (Jones)
Titans will have multiple guys (Brown LB, Evans LB, Conklin RT, Jackson CB, Humphries WR)

That's a part that understated here. Titans about to go on 3rd road game in 3 weeks. In some brutally tough and physical games. They might be more sore and hurt than they've been since they started the playoffs. Mike DeVito (Former Chiefs DT) was on the Jets when they were back to back AFC Championship Game appearances as Wild Cards. They went on the road for every game, he said both years, no matter what, by the time they got to the AFC Championship Game, they were exhausted.

I don't know if the Titans are exhausted, but they are probably a tired and really sore bunch. KC meanwhile is playing just their 2nd game in 3 weeks with the bye in the first round. There is a reason why the team with the bye almost always advances to the Super Bowl out of both AFC and NFC. They are the more rested team compared to a team that is going on the road for at least 2 games to make it to Super Bowl.

Jones out there in a helmet today. He'll either be a full or limited participant. Big news for Chiefs.

Was coming in late to work this morning and Dan Lebatard was so unlistenable that I had to switch off ESPN Radio and heard Skip Bayless picking the Titans to win 24-21. So there's that...

It's been a long week just waiting for this game to get here. Hopefully the KU game tomorrow will pass the clock time a little quicker.

Heard.

Ah shit Bayless picked Titans? Almost makes me say go Chiefs!

But nah.

I watched nfl network for three hours. And day indeed crawling by today.

When score was 24-0, I had plans into Austin in place. Buddy lives there, would have arrived at 1030 for noon tip.

I’d rather be making the drive tomorrow, so glad things turned.

I just don’t see Tennessee beating the Chiefs unless they Ben Davidson Mahomes. Henry is really the MVP this year, to me no question. But he ran wild last time and the Chiefs had to gift the Titans 20 points to lose. It could happen again, but hope to see Mahomes in the Super Bowl.

I don’t see it either, tbh, but I’m hopeful.

Against Ravens I didn’t see the way beforehand, with Chiefs I can see how, but the doing is another story...

...and Mahomes.
