Trump is so self absorbed he's not capable of contrition or being apologetic or a uniter of people. It's sad and it sucks.

What an ugly stain on the Presidency.
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

it’s not like this is the only one
Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
If he avoids getting kicked out of office, it will help him in the next election. Which is sad in it's own right.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 4:41 pm Trump is so self absorbed he's not capable of contrition or being apologetic or a uniter of people. It's sad and it sucks.

I feel bad even pointing this out, cuz I know partisanly divisive it'll sound, buuuut if I could offer this observation as a simple matter of fact:IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 4:41 pm Trump is so self absorbed he's not capable of contrition or being apologetic or a uniter of people. maybe the problem is Republicans are so self absorbed and not capable of contrition?
cuz more than anything else, Trump voters are the ones who refuse to admit their guy is doing the kinda shit that everyone else feared he was gonna do.
Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
I have to disagree with that. He's lost a lot of the fringe support he had. Some people held their noses and voted for him for the various reasons we've discussed numerous times. He's lost and or is losing some of that type of support...and as long as the Dems don't run Sanders or Warren against him I think many of the middle of the road people who don't identify with either party will choose to vote against him this time.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 12:04 amIf he avoids getting kicked out of office, it will help him in the next election. Some republicans do what you say, no doubt....but I could easily say Dem voters (some) are the ones (also) who refuse to admit they ran a shitty candidate who many people hated and who some people feared was going to do bad shit or make bad choices too....would her shit have been as bad as Trump's shit? Who knows. Probably not. But she's far from a uniter either, and wasn't/isn't what we "needed" as a country either. 2 bad choices. No good answers. Either was going to be problematic...obviously trump has been problematic.
To paint Clinton as a figure who is above corruption and the anti-Trump is laughable. She could have gotten herself caught up in bad shit too potentially. Although I think she knew the "game" well enough to do it in a much more sneaky fashion than Trump's dumbass.
Hopefully, whoever is in office the next term, does better and is better.

Dowdy would have been horribly corrupt, just as defiant, but more under the table. Considering all she has managed to get away with to date, it is hard to imagine her being held accountable.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 7:17 amYup. all republicans. Every single 1. Knowing the DNC, they will run something like a Bernie/The Waitress ticket or pair up Fauxcahontas and Ilhan, thus effectively driving voters to choose Trump for a second term. If they were to pair up Creepy Joe with someone relatively bland and inoffensive, it might be a different story.

Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
Obviously this is true. But what has driven a lot of people away from Trump and politics in general is the lack of dignity he has brought to the office.
It's fair to say that any other candidate wouldn't have taken the country down this road.

If constantly apologizing to every other country on the face of the Earth for our very existence and paying out trillions in cash to countries like Iran is being dignified, then Obama was definitely the most dignified POTUS in history.
High five?!?
