We have this discussion every semester in my sociology class. Uniformly, all of the African American students are adamant that, if you are not Black, it is NOT okay to use that word in ANY context. Invariably, a White or Hispanic kid will argue, “I have lots of friends who are Black. I can use the word.” They are always told in no uncertain terms that they are mistaken.

Please tell all the African American students that Grandma agrees and said it's not ok for people who are not African American to use the word Nigger.
See what I did there, I used the n-word in a context that was necessary to explain my exact sentiment. Are you offended by my use of it?
