Where will you.......
Where will you.......
Be watching the Super Bowl?
I would very much appreciate suggestions for the best place/s to watch the Super Bowl in KC.
Am I the only person who feels it would be kind of cool if the Chiefs sold tickets for $10-$20 to let fans in to Arrowhead to watch the game on the "Jumbotron"?

Re: Where will you.......
why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?
Re: Where will you.......
I'm sure that Power & Light will have it.
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Not a bad question and seemingly you would not be one of those people.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:41 am why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?
I happen to be someone who would enjoy it.
To answer your question....
The money may/can go to charity (good cause).
What other place in KC (indoor or outdoors) do you feel would be better for a large contingent of fans to unite and watch the game?
The cold doesn't stop ALL people from attending sporting events. I have no problem sitting outside watching football if it's not bitter cold.
Perhaps it's been done before in/at other stadiums and was well received and people felt is was a great atmosphere?
Re: Where will you.......
There will be plenty of bars to watch it and that's probably my best option but as someone who doesn't enjoy being packed in tight in a crowded bar with out of control people - my "best" option is not a great option.
I did a simple Google search of best places in Kansas City to watch the Super Bowl and nothing came up.

i’ve sat through plenty of cold games, but not games that i watched on a low-res jumbotronGrandma wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:06 amNot a bad question and seemingly you would not be one of those people.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:41 am why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?

Re: Where will you.......
I am fully aware that you're talking something like $5,000,000 in revenue at the very least (50,000 people x $100/head), but my god what a disaster that would be.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:41 am why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?

I get it. Sorry for your sake that your Tits aren't in the SB.
Re: Where will you.......
I don't think people would pay $100 and it might generate just a small amount of money but I don't think the Hunt family would be hurting if they had to eat a portion of the cost/s.jfish26 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:20 amI am fully aware that you're talking something like $5,000,000 in revenue at the very least (50,000 people x $100/head), but my god what a disaster that would be.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:41 am why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?
Hey, I know Packers fans congregate at Lambeau when they are in the Super Bowl.
Not sure what other NFL team's fans do in that regard.
I do know fans in other sports enjoy going to their team's stadiums to watch championship games.
Showing the game at Arrowhead was just a thought that I (selfishly?) felt would be a decent idea.
Maybe logistically it's a very poor idea.
Re: Where will you.......
Chiefs are better team. They really turned Titans game plan to their own, and Reid out coached Vrabel.
I’m doubtful Titans have another shot at super bowl any time soon, but who knows.
My buddy had great set up for his house. Two rooms, 2 TVs, in between food. Gave a good a balance for those that wanted to watch intently vs those who were in fan mode and wanted to bond with others. Most of us moved between rooms as we were all nervous....until the 60 yard TD, when they started cheering more and I completely stfu.

Re: Where will you.......
For chiefs, arrowhead doesn’t make sense bc you have to get out of there and go somewhere else. The mob of fans can’t walk from stadium to bar district like at FF. If it was a downtown stadium, perhaps it would be different.
Re: Where will you.......
If by "logistically", you mean from a human rights/public safety perspective, yes.Grandma wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:27 amI don't think people would pay $100 and it might generate just a small amount of money but I don't think the Hunt family would be hurting if they had to eat a portion of the cost/s.jfish26 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:20 amI am fully aware that you're talking something like $5,000,000 in revenue at the very least (50,000 people x $100/head), but my god what a disaster that would be.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:41 am why would anyone pay to sit in the cold and watch it that way?

And $100 is light - if everything (parking, entry, beers, food) is $10/pop, I think you're looking at a per-head spend well in excess of that, on the balance.
Re: Where will you.......
Your welcome to share my couch, Gutter. I'll fire up the Weber for some burgers sans cheese.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: Where will you.......
That's awfully kind of you 99 and much appreciated!
I'll be in KC and find somewhere to watch it. I'm extremely hopeful the Chiefs win and then no matter where I am I will find and join the revelry post game.

I thought i read some where that the NFL doesn’t allow stadiums to host ‘watch’ parties. Don’t quote me on that.
I’m torn between PnL or my house. Both had positives and negatives. I’m leaning towards my house.
