OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)

I dunno. I think Gutter is saying same thing as you all are, but he’s acknowledging all of our ‘yeah, but...’ tendencies when things such as this happen to things we care about.

If he’s talking specifically about the stool, I disagree. The stool is a non-issue for me, regardless of who picked it up. It’s a fight.
In fact if roles were reversed and a Jayhawks threw the first punch I would be extremely pissed off, and they would deserve any length of suspension they got. Dust ups on the court happen every week in the NCAA. Tech fouls for taunting happen every night in the NCAA. A punch being thrown is what turned this into what it is. That should be punished severely.
Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
I don’t know the exact terms of the law in ‘real life’, but I’m pretty sure two parties get involved in a scrum, and one goes from fists to a knife, and steps towards the scrum, that person has then escalated the scrum to a new level, and would trump the original instigators intent.
In this case that original escalation came from an escalation by SDS (standing over K-State Cuck).
Seems right that SDS would get more severe consequence to me. His escalation ended up being the potentially most destructive to others. And he did.

It was. 8 games is pretty good. But the punch led to the stool. Not sure how you equate the punch with the taunt, but not the stool to the punch.HandC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:40 amGqcolorado wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:32 am I dunno. 8 games is a lot for a missed punch and some pushing before getting closelined from the top rope by Rey Mysterio (or maybe it was Jeremy Case?).

It was a stool. And which player did he chase with it? He picked it up, looked around, and dropped it.

He swung the fist. SDS didn’t swing the stool. Pretty big difference in my book.

I’m thinking more that 12 games was too much rather than 8 being too little.

This nuance is what I'd harp on if this were a criminal matter.HandC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:44 amWhat knife?Gqcolorado wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:42 am I don’t know the exact terms of the law in ‘real life’, but I’m pretty sure two parties get involved in a scrum, and one goes from fists to a knife, and steps towards the scrum, that person has then escalated the scrum to a new level, and would trump the original instigators intent.

Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
Silvio should have just handed the damn ball to Teahan (?) instead of refusing to let go so that he could be the 1 to dribble out the clock. Hand the ball to a guard.
Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
I would normally agree with this. But there is that whole chair thing.
Defense. Rebounds.

Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
I definitely blame that on Kansas State and squeaks. They're in a full-court press down 23, denying our guards the ball. Silvio, not wanting to get the 10 second dribbles across the line, sees 3 seconds left, game's over minus any bush league monmouth/tater stuff.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:50 am Silvio should have just handed the damn ball to Teahan (?) instead of refusing to let go so that he could be the 1 to dribble out the clock. Also, that's assuming Teahan can protect the ball better than Silvio can, and that is a very large assumption.
Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
Right after the rebound there were 2 Jayhawks holding the ball and the defenders had retreated (at least a bit)...Silvio refused to let go of it, our guard even looked confused, and then he dribbled up into the trap.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:52 amI definitely blame that on Kansas State and squeaks. But yes....playing defense AT ALL under those circumatances is against the etiquette of the game.

And I feel totally confident saying the only person possibly worse at dribbling on our team is Dok....and it might be a toss up.

Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
Here's the larger point: whether it's Silvio, Teahan, Dok, Baby Jay or Jeremy Case, the game is over. It doesn't matter who dribbles out the last 3.4 seconds. Silvio just so happened to come up with the ball (because of the doucher full court press).IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:55 amRight after the rebound there were 2 Jayhawks holding the ball and the defenders had retreated (at least a bit)...Silvio refused to let go of it, our guard even looked confused, and then he dribbled up into the trap.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:52 amI definitely blame that on Kansas State and squeaks. Not a single player can really prevent doucher mcdoucherton action: Monmouth pulled the move against Enaruna. Squeaks was already mid blow-by handshake with Bill.
The only way you can stop douche moves like this is to stuff their bullshit dunk attempt all the way to Angola and then stand over them like a rock star.

Eh, McCormack is probably the worst dribbler on the team, and I don't think it's close.
Dok at least managed to dribble a good distance and throw a dunk down in Maui. McCormack would dribble it off his foot, then dive for it out of bounds while his 6ft 11 frame goes sprawling everywhere.
Then he gets up, claps his hands, says "Damn!" and then plays some defense.

i would felt differently had it been a statie
would have wanted him booted off the team
still would have been empathetic and understood the reaction, given the situation

Gotta remember too, lots of KU fans wanted that kstate twerp who rushed the floor and bumped into Jamari suspended from school, slapped with a misdemeanor and more. It's all about perspective and who you root for.
Silvio would have been fine and suspended maybe 6-8 games, until he picked up the chair. That made it impossible for it to be anything less than 10 games. If it was reversed, I think I'd feel the same way as I do now.

Re: OFFICIAL FIGHT FALL OUT (OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL)
It's probably already been stated, but if some Raider jackass jumped over the line while Mahomes is trying to kneel the ball up 17, and spears him mid kneel, this is the only acceptable response for the Chiefs O Line:
