I think Bernie has as good a shot as anyone does. Maybe the best shot.
It could turn into McGovern 2.0. Or it could be the case that Bernie is able to siphon enough of the still (justifiably) angry country-class votes off from Trump to beat him at his own game.

Right now it's looking like it's going to be him vs Biden. And the combination of Bloomberg's bottomless funding and Biden's gaffe-ability really help Bernie.
And thanks to the electoral college giving a greater say to uneducated voters, Bernie vs Trump might actually be worse for Trump.
Please Iowa, vote for Pete. If I were him I'd be striking a deal with Klobuchar, announce that they would pick the other as VP, and reap the Amy votes when she's not viable in nearly every precinct.

Ha! What a great idea Donald. Brilliant.
Imagine that you're a republican senator, say, MoscowMitch, and you wake up to Trump doing this today. It wasn't enough that you sacrificed any pretense of credibility by pledging that you won't deviate from the Trump line in the impeachment "trial". Then, Trump hangs you out to dry by not informing you about Bolden's book that the WH had for 3 weeks, wherein Bolton destroys your already weak defense by tying Trump directly to the quid pro quo. And now, Trump is provoking Bolden, just when you're trying to manufacture a plausible reason to not hear from witnesses or obtain documents and shut this "trial" down ASAP before you suffer any more damage.
Meanwhile, > 70% of Americans say they do want to hear from witnesses.
“We’re going to win. We’re going to win so much. We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning, you’re going to come to me and go ‘Please, please, we can’t win anymore...
Hahaha! Republicans, you own Trump. Lock. Stock. & Barrel:

Care to elaborate on the still (justifiably) angry part?
Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
All of the conditions that pissed the country class off in 2008, when they told the GOP to fuck off, and in 2016, when they told the Dems to fuck off, are still extant.
We still have troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. We still have a monetary policy that favors large shareholders and unfairly disadvantages everyone else. We still have large financial institutions manipulating the system to enrich management over shareholders. We still have a government that would have trouble chartering one fucking Boeing to remove diplomatic staff from Wuhan, while abandoning some 5000 American citizens in the city. Etc.

Back to the impeachment:
- would any amount of witness testimony really make a big difference in the trial? (Think about how much evidence has already been shrugged off...)
- would dems be better off with testimony? Or perhaps better off with a no-witness gop acquittal, and let republicans remain tethered to Trump while the dirt continues to get dug?

Re: Where TF is the Impeachment Inquiry Thread?
So the job of president is to commiserate with other indicted head’s of state and provide photo ops for Fox News to help each other’s reelection while passing off disingenuous unilateral capitulation plans as “peace” plans? Seems to be about right for how trumpublicans view the job considering who they chose for the position.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 6:38 pmjaphy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 6:11 pm But, SQUIRREL! , there will now be peace in the Middle East because tiny and Bibi just announced the peace plan to end all peace plans, the greatest peace plan in the history of peace plans, this is going to bring so much peace to the Middle East that they will be sick of the peace. tiny knows more about peace than all of the previous presidents put together, nobody knows more about peace plans than tiny.
Immediately afterwards Bibi announced that he intended to annex 30% of the West Bank which lead to much celebration amongst Palestinians.
You're right, of course.
Trump should sit sadly in sackcloth and ashes waiting for the Dance to be done.
Dumbass trying to president when e'ryone knows there's no presidenting to be done.
Move on. Or don't.

You clearly haven't been watching the live "trial"....probably too busy watching fox news.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 8:17 am Back to the impeachment:
