Out of pocket? I thought his bench outbursts were quite well known. He's also chastised the student section before.

Overall bench outbursts you might be right. I can't recall those right off hand. We have also seen him get on the student section before but I can't recall him going after them like that. That much of an outburst seemed odd to me.

Again, you might be right and I will say that he and Kobe were pretty close so death has a weird way of mixing with emotions. It is weird to defend Coach K because I do believe his persona has gotten kind of old but with everything going on I am inclined to give him a pass on this one.

How close are we assuming K and Kobe were? Closer than Shaq and Kobe?

I ask only because Shaq said the last time he spoke to Kobe was at Kobe's final game where he scored 60. So I honestly don't know how much K and Kobe talked recently since both are incredibly busy. I would find it hard to believe they talked weekly or even monthly...but just a guess.

How much or how little you talk to someone doesn't change the heartbreak you feel when you learn they pass. I have friends that I talk to maybe once a year if I bump into them and I'd likely still be crushed to a point I can't explain if I found out they died in a freak accident. You don't have to talk to someone daily/weekly/etc to be close with them.

It's true when they say the quality of a memory is greater than the quantity of memories.
