When the KU Endowment people have students call alumni for donations, I had one young man whom I told I'd make a donation, but didn't give my credit card number out because he might be a scammer. He said he could answer questions and I told him that scammers would have learned facts about KU.

Then, it occurred to me to ask if he could sing the fight song. He said, "Well, I can only sing the first line."

I said, "Okay, you're a Jayhawk." We both laughed and he said he'd have to tell his supervisor the story.
