He missed what, 7 games of this season?
He misses 6 games of the next?
That's 13 games.

Yet Silvio got 12 for picking up a chair.

13 nfl games is way more than 12 NCAA basketball games.

That’s only one way the argument is bad. Not that I disagree in principle.

Jones is elite rushing the passer but still struggles against the run. I'm not to sure if you can pay him the money he wants or will get in the open market for a guy that hasn't been healthy consistently and is prone to lapses against the run.
Not that you'd ever get anyone on record about this, but I'll bet that: (1) we franchise+trade Jones this offseason, and (2) we would have kept him (on tag or extension) if we hadn't won the Super Bowl.

Now that the lid's off, you don't need to keep the pressure on winning right this second. You do have to do what you can to keep this rolling. Adding young, cheap talent (and keeping your powder as dry as reasonably possible) is the way.

Particularly if you can get a first back, so you've got the fifth year team option.

Garrett misses 0 games next year.
He's reinstated.
Total of 6 games suspended...seems a bit light but i'm not that bothered by it.

I think Goodell needs to rewatch the fight with Fran over-dubbing the announcers.

I’m fine with Garrett being able to play next season. He made a mistake and has been punished. Time to move on.

Bored working at hotel post:

Saw Josh Norman got cut. Xavier Rhodes has been an absolutely liability the last 2 seasons. Did Ramsey play lights out in LA? Couple of thoughts on that:

1. Does it make sense anymore to sign CB's to long-term expensive contracts?

2. Because of how fast things change, when you look at Talib in this era, he has a pretty good argument for the Hall of Fame.

Tangentially - probably better than even odds that Chris Harris is a Chief next year.

I don't know if it's ego or idolizing Deion, etc., but CB's seem to want to be that outside island star.

But, Harris makes a great case of staying inside at the nickel your whole career, playing for a long time, earning a lot of money, and basically being able to pick the team you want to be on b/c of a manageable contract.

Would be great to have him in Kansas City.

He basically told Denver to fuck off bc they kept him outside all last year. And he still did fine, not in his best position.

Is confirmation of Bowlen’s second family being confirmed and reported making the rounds nationally?

This isn’t gonna help the Broncos ownership troubles in the near term. Potentially good fallout for the Chiefs.

Seems like a solid Fuller replacement.

Fuller was on the cheap though ( looking back, pretty solid trade, Fuller and 3rd round pick - did we get Nnadi? ) - 2.2 million last season.

Harris will command 4 times that i'd think.

I think it's Fuller who will command more, and Harris who will be looking at a pretty modest deal. Age is undefeated, and all...

Yep. Fuller is 25 and has shown he can play outside, nickel AND safety.

He's the more versatile player and will get paid as such compared to Harris.

Harris tied for career worst 1 INT and career worst in pass deflections. He's still good and guys don't get open, but he's not as good as he was 3 years ago. He'll get a good contract, but it will be cheaper than what he could have gotten a few years back.

Oh, I just meant we won't be getting Harris for 2 mill.
And won't be getting Fuller for 2 either.

CBS is reporting that Bieniemy will likely stay with the Chiefs next season and interview for HC positions next year.

As he should. Good for him. Good for Chiefs.

He'll end up with a team like the Vikings in 2021.

Greed. Always been a League of despicable owners led by a $50M super villain.

The football is good, though.
