OMG.
Then don't own a gun!
Twice you've spiraled into spazz zone about immigration and guns....and then repeated your stances on those topics...which is fine, good talk and all that, but we're simply talking about fear being used by both sides to MOTIVATE voters. Which it is...and you're literally demonstrating why.
A large percentage of laws on the books are attempts to balance the right of individuals with the safety of greater society. If it makes you feel better to call the awareness that guns can in fact kill people as "fear" then fine, you win that pointless debate.
We enact laws all the time that restrict citizens "right" to do whatever the fuck they want for the greater good.
TDub has stated that we should teach more about responsible gun ownership and respect of what guns do than "fear of guns". OK. So, lets roll with that. Require that potential gun owners show proof that they have taken a responsible gun ownership safety course prior to being allowed to purchase a gun. Require that continued education be required by requiring a certain amount of training/safety courses be needed to continue ownership of said guns. Shit, think of all the good american jobs created by that requirement.
We've let people buy guns without such requirements for centuries now and the empirical evidence overwhelmingly shows that an unacceptable number of gun owners fail to get the necessary training/knowledge that is needed to be responsible gun owners. I dont see how anyone looks at the data and thinks the current model of doing this is working as well as it possibly could.
