The biggest lesson learned here is that they were both in the wrong. The woman had no sense of public etiquette, and the man was obviously a jerk. People in society need to relearn a sense of public etiquette -- an airline is not your living room. Be respectful of space around you, and problems like this will not escalate.

Inconsiderate because she reclined her seat? Her right to do as such. Look, I don't like it when someone reclines in to me (nor do I recline myself) but I sure as shit don't push someone's chair when they do recline. That would make me an even bigger asshole than I already am.

The seat has a recline feature.
She reclined.
Dude was a fucking asshole.

How in the hell do you fly and not expect that folks might recline their seat?

I didn't say the guy was justified in his response. You have to be considerate of those around you. If the guy behind her is 5'6" and isn't trying to work on his tray, then it's not a problem. If he's like me and 6'3", my knees are already flush against the seat and I'm wedged at an angle to fit my legs in the space provided. When you recline, you are essentially lying in my lap. I'm not going to hit your seat, but I'm also not going to be very happy with you. I always appreciate it when people at least turn around and ask "Do you mind?"

Don't disagree that he was an a-hole. She was equally inconsiderate. I can see why he was frustrated.

There's a lack of public etiquette, especially with some women these days. The dude did ask her if she would not recline it, but she didn't care. She claims she "needed" to have it reclined due to medical issue. The point is -- be respectful of space around you in public, especially in cozy situations. She was not, and the dude was a dick.

I understand and respect your feelings. I get the guy's frustration. Airlines have no problem packing people in like sardines. That being said, I feel the woman did ZERO wrong in terms of exercising her right to recline in her seat - unfortunately at the expense of someone else's comfort.

Because, some will just disagree just because they don't "like" the person rather than looking at the actual topic at hand. It's easy to predict because of that reason alone.

I don't think health care is a "right", and don't think that college should be "free".

What do I win?
