Some people say that after "fiscal responsibility party" republican administrations run up the national debt with higher and higher budget deficits, the democrats who follow them reduce the budget deficits, attempting to clean up their mess:zsn wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:40 am Republicans got elected by crowing that Dems are terrible at controlling deficits. EW throwing up way too many fists tonight. She's hyperactive as fuck.
Re: who ya got?
EW creating a release from NDA agreement for Bloomberg was pure comedy. She's latching onto the momentum that she created for herself by decapitating him.
Although she looked silly saying he should be disqualified from being president if he doesn't release these people from the NDAs...and then in the next sentence said she'd support him if he didn't and won the election. Put herself into a corner on that one.
Biden did okay tonight. Which, tbh, is better than he usually does in these things. He clearly tried to make some comments to bring in people on the right or middle.

Seriously? Only time will tell, but IMO, Warren's move was brilliant. It effectively put Bloomberg in a box. The question now is, if/how he gets out of it.
She just had her best fundraising day ever, and, we're talking about her.
If that isn't "success" for someone who has been dropping steadily for months, I don't know what is.

What!?! You didn't graduate from KU? How do you live with yourself?!?IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:01 amNo worries. My eloquence is lacking. Blame my inferior saluki dog education.

Well, considering the amount of time I spent in class (not much) and the amount of time I spent in college (5.5 years) it's probably a good thing I went to an inferior school that was cheaper and closer to home.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:07 amWhat!?! I didn't even apply to Kansas (broke my dad's heart I'm sure). I had a GF and a handful of friends and soccer teammates who were all going to SIUC (which is historically known as a decent party school, or was back in the day before the city cracked down on the wild shit)...so that's where I wanted to go.
I spent plenty of weekends in KC and Lawrence for basketball games...and attended a grand total of 1 saluki basketball game. My loyalty and love is with KU even if my degree says SIUC. And I can live with that.

I want to believe SHE didn't do jack shit to his chance/s.
Really good chance it falls somewhere in the middle of what each of us want to believe.
My guess is a lot closer to my belief than your's.
Regardless, I am beginning to feel Mayor Pete is the guy the Dems need to back if they want a decent chance to beat Donald.
Re: who ya got?
Maybe he was just having an off night. But mayor pete was weak in the debate the other night.
Re: who ya got?
It's always harder to be the hunted than the hunter.
You could see in the first few they really went after Biden....once Pete surged he started being the hunted.
I think it's hard for Pete to appear more qualified/ready than Amy to the people they both appeal to. She has the experience and appeal. But I like both.
Re: who ya got?
He didn't have an off night. He is a terrible debater.
More to the point, the things Warren said about him are true, and they're going to be true whether he has a good night or not.
