Shit, I dont have a problem with some of the actual policies and actions taken by Trump when not comes to immigration; some of them have been no more than a proper attempt to enforce the laws of our nation. That is different than having a problem with his overarching attempts to portray immigrants as vile scum undeserving of civil treatment as human beings.

Just freaking have some basic human empathy for the plight of others. Treat them as humans. Create thousands of US jobs by hiring a huge volume of judges, officers, case workers, etc... to better process people. How many thousands of jobs could be funded like this with the money Trump wants for his wall? Then he doubles down and flattens up his cronies pockets with contracts to their private companies to treat these people like cockroaches. Which one of them did Trump's own brother have some "interest" in?

I (almost) can't even respond to that nonsense.

Illegal immigration is a real problem. Just as gun violence is a real problem. They are things that ARE happening.

Again. You're having trouble understanding this for some reason...but we're talking about FEAR being used to motivate voters...or at least we were until you went into rants about various topics.

Whether you agree if [insert any fucking topic here] is a problem is irrelevant.

Fear being used to motivate voters. That's the topic.

There's a mass shooting thread and an illegal immigration thread for your stances on those topics in case you want to repeat them for a 5th time.

LOL @ CNN calling out EW for saying she's going to launch a DOJ task force to investigate Trump officials....sounds an awful lot like weaponizing the DOJ for political purposes.

Her response: "oh it'll be independent"

Florida cannot, for now, bar felons who served their time from registering to vote simply because they have failed to pay all fines and fees stemming from their cases, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.

A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Tallahassee federal judge's preliminary injunction that a state law implementing Amendment 4 amounted to an unfair poll tax that would disenfranchise many of the released felons.

The state constitutional amendment was approved overwhelmingly by voters in 2018 to allow most felons who served their time to regain the right to vote. But the Republican-led Legislature soon after passed a law stipulating that they had to first pay any fines and fees before their sentences could be deemed complete under the law.

My understanding is that in the heavily Democratic counties like Miami-Dade and Broward, Democrats raised funds to pay off the fines and fees. Which is a really good thing for those former felons, no matter who they vote for, or if they even vote.

I had wondered a while back, when republicans chose to defy the will of Floridians, if someone wouldn't start a G0 Fund Me page.

Makes you wonder how he passed the background check to become an ambassador, until you remember that people like Jared and Ivanka get a free pass, and it all makes sense. Because

Trump naming a new "Acting" DNI, a guy with no intelligence experience, shouldn't be a surprise to anyone with a brain.

As Richard Grenell, the current US ambassador to Germany, starts his second day on the job as the nation’s acting director of national intelligence, his arrival also marks the ouster of not only his predecessor, Joseph Maguire, but reportedly also of DNI principal executive Andrew Hallman. By the end of the day, almost all of the roles created after 9/11 literally to prevent the next 9/11 will be either vacant or lack permanent appointees.

While vacancies and acting officials have become commonplace in this administration, the moves by President Donald Trump this week represent a troubling and potentially profound new danger to the country. There will soon be no Senate-confirmed:

Director of the National Counterterrorism Center,

Director of National Intelligence,

Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence,

Homeland Security Secretary,

Deputy Homeland Security Secretary

Nor leaders of any of the three main border security and immigration agencies.
Across the government, nearly 100,000 federal law enforcement agents, officers, and personnel are working today without permanent agency leaders, from Customs and Border Protection and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

All the posts, and many more top security jobs, are unfilled or staffed with leaders who have not been confirmed by the Senate. Trump has done an end-around, installing loyalists without subjecting them to legally mandated vetting and approval by Congress.

This is sickening. But in Florida, hardly surprising.

Florida woman charged with changing party affiliations of voters

A central Florida woman is accused of submitting false voter registration information that switched the party affiliations of voters without their knowledge, sheriff’s investigators said...She's charged with 10 felony counts of submission of false voter registration information...A day earlier Lake County officials had announced that 119 false voter registration applications had been filed, news outlets reported...Sheriff's investigators said all 119 false forms were assigned to Hall, a registered Republican, to collect...Early voting for Florida's presidential primary on March 17 started Thursday in Lake County.

What happens when your policies don't resonate with the American people, but you're so tribal, so devoid of integrity that you'll do whatever it takes to win? You weaponize the government to suppress and deny the constitutional right to vote of those who don't belong to your tribe. Once again, for the umpteenth time, I wonder again where TF is the "Fuck Republicans" thread?

Because "Law and Order Party", and "Justice":

Because, when your ideas and policies suck and you have no self-respect, denying your opponents their right to vote is just another day of the week that ends in the letter "Y":
