I think the best case in this instance is that they were in a fog so think they didn’t know a mountainside was there, and they ran into it without anyone ever realizing a thing.

I will say that, while I’ve worked more hospitality jobs than I care to admit by now, and have been screamed and swore at for lord knows how many things, but the only time a guest cursed me out about the TV channel lineup has been cuz, why the fuck don’t yall’s hotel got Fox News?

7/9/95 at Soldier Field listening to the Grateful Dead play When I Paint My Masterpiece, then later So Many Roads, then Unbroken Chain, and Black Muddy River, out of nowhere I said to my girlfriend that I have ZERO doubt this is going to be Jerry's last show and he may not make it another month.
It was indeed his last show and he died exactly a month later.
When I took these photos they had strong meaning to me - at the time.
I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Little did I know it would be the last time he and Gianna would be in the Staples Center attending a Lakers game.

97 or 98 sitting at a pool in Miami with a buddy. Lot of people enjoying the sunshine on a beautiful day.
I'm listening to music on a Walkman. I hand it to my buddy to listen. He's Jammin out.
All of a sudden he gets up off his lounge chair, starts playing an air guitar, and screams out - "JERRY IS ALIVE"!
I laugh and people about 10 seats away laugh too - knowing full well what he was referring to.
