Is it good? I read a few bad reviews about the hardware etc... and got scared off it a bit. How old are your kids, can they figure out how to do the games?
They’re 13 and 10.
The 13 year old is pretty hardcore (think Arma or DCS vs CoD), and likes the more complex games like Onward.
The 10 year old plays things like Beat Saber, Fruit Ninja etc.
There is probably a battery cycle’s worth of learning curve as far as the menu, and what does what, but nothing insurmountable.
Probably the hardest thing as a parent is that you really can’t help a lot unless you go through the hoops of casting a screen to a phone or tablet or TV (so you can see what they see). But even then, you can’t really tell what buttons need to be pressed, or precisely how a wrist needs to be flicked, in order to accomplish something.
We’re pleased, but it would be very difficult if the kids were a notch or two below where they’re at, from a proficiency standpoint.
Ok, I gave up on finding a PS5 for a while so I bought an Oculus 2. Let me know what games you and the kids like. So far Space Pirates Trainer is the winner. My little one just started Bogo. Downloaded Echo VR but haven't tried it yet. Definitely like it so far.

My little one is enjoying a game called Elixir and my wife and oldest like Nature Treks VR. Both are interesting and unique so far.

Go to moonrider.xyz on the browser in your Oculus 2. It's a free, web based game very similar to Beat Saber. The whole family is having fun with it.

Web AR/VR is kinda my dream job.
Hate how games have to pass regulation and then also pay into the platform —soon you’ll have open market.

I'd love to test games. God knows there is a need for it lately. So many top name games have hit the market being buggy pikes of shit in the last few years.

The problem is, the larger and more complex games become, the greater chance at bugs.
You could QA super Mario brothers on NES in less than a week nowadays.

I would suspect they have dozens of QA testers. It just appears they are taking the Microsoft method of coding and going live with lots of bugs and patching them over time. It'sashitty way to do it but people keep paying for their buggy code so why change?

For sure, big games have QA teams, but knowing the environment, the devs get pressured into a tight unrealistic window where they are working 80 hours a week and QA gets the remnants, its one of the last things on the agenda, so usually will get rushed unfortunately.

I remember them being wonky to start but I got used to them. The story of the game was incredible, detailed and I was invested in it. Other than that there is no easy to see checklist for the cards that you can collect and that riding a horse is a effort in frustration, I loved it.

i found it phenomenal, and well worth the purchase price
the environmental graphics and open world layout are fantastic. i’m sure you’d enjoy it as much as i have

the online portion is awful from what i’ve experienced
