Bigger fan blah blah is all kinda b.s. but I do think there is credibility in being a different 'fan' if you attended KU.

Also it's fun to rub it in Illy's face that he went to Southern Illinois State or something like that.

Yeah, I mean I don't get all that stuff. I'm not a KU grad. Parents are not KU grads. But my sister did attend KU and we had football season tickets from 2002-2012. I would like to think we are big KU fans although the majority of the family did not attend.

If you were to 'rate' fan hood, and you got 10 for every game you watched on TV, and 100 for every game you attended, and 200 if you belonged to an actual KU message board and posted on it ( + bonus 100 if you belonged to kcrim ) - i'd say you'd get, oh, 3000 if you attended KU.

I'm not going to get into the argument of whether or not you have to go to KU to be a real KU fan. I will say that in almost every job interview I've had, KU basketball has come up.

Your alma mater is part of your identity, and when KU basketball is the most positive touch point of your alma mater, there is just something to be said that personal and immutable tie. When it's personal, you care just a little bit more about the school and brand. It's natural.

So say I live in Alaska and grew up with Mario Chalmers. Friends with him, still to this day. He commits and I say I'm a Kansas fan now. Watch every game. Follow recruiting. All that good stuff, but never had a chance to attend a game in person. You're saying I have to watch roughly 8.5 years worth of games just be on the same level of "fan hood" as someone who goes to KU for academics and couldn't tell you the first thing about any sport

Well, you'd get points for being friend with Mario Chalmers, that's for damn sure.

Illini referred to KU as "our program" on a KU message board discussing a topic with other KU fans.
He got shit for it.

If I said "I am going to kick your ass behind the QT" I haven't committed any infraction. If I kicked your ass behind the QT, then, I am in trouble. We know that KT didn't "kick anyone ass" or Zion would be in a Kansas uniform. It's not a good view but no rules were broken.

Or rather we were about to kick someone's ass behind QT and Coach K jumped off the roof with a piledriver before we could.

I want points for the fucking Oranges that we ate during games that we were waiting to throw Oranges in the End Zones for every touchdown. Or hoping for a chance for a LeRoy Ervin punt return because that was the best chance to throw those Oranges. Or the year of going to games to watch Ted Owen's last Kansas team. I am over 10k Points!

I want Points for sneaking into Kemper in 1988. Paying for the worst seats in the Hoosier Dome in 1991. Learning to hate Juan Dixon in Atlanta in 2002. "Not giving a SHIT" in 03. Watching Memphis crumble in the final 3 minutes in 2008. Watching 2012 from a Suite at the Super Dome. 2-4 in Final Four Trips should get me 2000 points for each victory and 1000 points for each loss. Add 6000 Points!

There’s no middle ground here. It’s going to work or it isn’t.

If Agbaji doesn’t play 15+ and hit a couple of 3s tomorrow it’s a waste.

There’s no middle ground on this take. It’s awful.

Congrats to him. He seems like a great kid and is going to be a big part of plano's program for the next several years!

That said, does anyone think it sort of feels like Self is in panic mode with this team?

This also means a 0 percent chance we see Silvio this year.

I don't think the 2 are even remotely related.
