Underwhelming compared to the OC hire. But it means a 99% chance Bowen is leaving Lawrence.

Yes it is. Still an SEC and Pac12 Defensive Coordinator. So he has to know his stuff. Stops at Florida State, Kentucky and Colorado.
Seems like his defenses like to take the ball away. Which is important in today's football. You're not going to stop teams from gaining yards for the most part, you have to get key takeaways and limit them to FG instead of TDs.

OC was the more important hire, for Miles, though.

Absolutely agree. I just had too many stars in my eyes when the Bo rumors started.
Sounds like this new guy might bring his DL coach who has ties to LA. That already makes it a pretty damn good hire.

The DC being in the SEC means he has ties in the South. Just like Lindsey, Miles and Jackson. Meadows the OL has connections to Midwest, which is perfect because that's where the beef is, perfect for OL
KU might not be very good this first year, but dammit, they'll be fun to watch and will start getting some DUDES on this team.

No rumors around for the strength and conditioning coach?

I do think that Woodfin, the current S&C guy is good. But Les made it known that they ran out of gas in the second half of OU game. That doesn’t bode well for status of current guy.
Kleiman might want his own guy at kstate, and I think the guy in that current role, Chris Dawson is amazing. Was at KU under Mangino. Go pluck him.

Kleiman is a damned fool to bring a I-AA guy into BCS. If Dawson is available he wont last long. His wife is an LHS grad and former KU cheerleader. Also dated Haase back in the day FWIW.

I did hear a rumor that Woodfin was going to stick around. That was like a week ago, though.

KU got a hit JUCO QB today. 6ft 5 225 3 star guy. Can be mobile if necessary. Started career at Pitt.

That's great that we're getting commitments, much more exciting than just interest.
But....not to go all negative nancy.....we've had a lot of bounceback QB transfers, Crist, Heaps, Bender, that haven't done much. I guess we're due.
Someone gutter-meter me.

It’s not ideal but neither is trying to find a QB in December that must be on the depth chart.
LeGendre wasn’t going to happen so had to go JuCo.

A few JuCo kids are good especially if you are rated by 24/7 the number one pro-style JuCo QB.

Pretty much any QB is better then what we’ve been seeing the last couple years.

Yeah, there's no other option. And even if you get a HS Sr., he's most likely a year or two away from being any good. I'm just too fucking cynical about KU football at this point to put too much stock into a JuCo transfer who was a 4* with a high ceiling outta HS.

The great thing is he enrolls in January and will be here for spring ball.
Even if he’s no better than Bender, we absolutely have to have a body. Only 2 qb’s on the roster and one is a RS SR next year.

Great hire. Former HC at South Oak Cliff which is where Shady Arthur went to school. Great football school and should have great connections in DFW.
