It may not be in his interest, and that's very fair, but it should definitely be in ours.
Where else you giving that scholly to for a chance at a 1st team B12 kinda player and one who shoots at 70%?

Supposedly the De Sousa watch might be revving up again.

I think it's tempting to get sour on the familiar, but it's certainly true that we'd all lose our fucking minds if we landed a former McD's AA footer who had averaged 13/7 (on 77% shooting!) in a full season at a high-major program.

I think I saw something about the appeal being submitted after the Final Four for Silvio.

When healthy, The Big Fella is a force in college basketball. It is absolutely in our best interest for him to come back next season. As this point in the game no way to put his scholly to better use anyway.

If in fact he has no nba future, might be in his best interest to come back also. Europe will be there for him a year from now.

I want The Big Fella back for one more.

I was told that Tait said today that he thinks SDS will be in the fold next season. Makes me think that an appeal will be filed.

Everyone wants what you want: a healthy Udoka for a full season.

But, he's not coming back. And the fact that he's not coming back makes me absolutely question whether Bill Self believes Udoka can ever give us a full season.

As this season has shown, if we don't have him for the 2nd half of the season, we're probably better off not having had him at all.

I'd be interested to see a study of how well previous injuries are indicative that a player will get injured again soon in the future. I would guess there is some element of the hot hand fallacy in people's perception of injury proneness.

Probably so. And, hey, Udoka is out of hands to break.

I do wonder if Self's style wears Udoka down. The boot camp mandate. The Hudy-ization. Withey couldn't stay healthy when we were trying to pack on the pounds. Also, big men just seem to be more injury prone than small guys.

If he’s not coming back it’s because he thinks it’s time to make the next step not because Self doesn’t want him here. Lord.

Sweet. If an appeal is filed now the NCAA should start looking into it around the exhibition games and maybe we can get him back for the last week or 2 of the Big 12 season.

4th season.
Right, I meant that if he get's hurt for a 3rd time, that would be a 3rd season season where we had to adjust. I know next year is his 4th, and we've only had 1 year where has not been injured.
Just a reminder that we went to the Final Four that one year. I'd like him to come back and we'll take our chances.

I can’t look ahead to the 2020-2021 Big 12 season yet.

KJ is on pace to get his degree this summer. If he wants to transfer, he won't sit out or have to go to a lower division. He can go anywhere and play next season. Now the question is, will he?

If I'm KJ, I'm taking a look first to see how the roster shakes up.
As CnB alluded to, this still might be the best place for him in terms of the opportunity of significant minutes at a high profile program.

Yeah just read his thing about the outlook of current roster.

KU has filed appeal, but still waiting ruling. But there is optimism from the program that the penalty will be less. Whether that be playing all next year, or sitting an additional 10 games, there is a good feeling he'll be on the court next year.

I've fallen for that one too many times.
