assuming they don’t make me shit my britches...
A work acquaintance gifted me a platter of tamales for the holidays. Delish, but the aftermath meant that I likely won't have one until next Xmas.

so this local abuelita delivers them to your door. $20 bucks a dozen.

The choices are chicken, beef, pork, cheese and jalapeños, beef and jalapeños, cheese and bean, and veggie.

With bonus dessert flavors! Pineapple coconut, cinnamon, and strawberry.

This is like, the best thing ever, right?

Mmmmmm, tamales.

It's rude to order food from someone who sells food. Just shows your sense of entitlement and expectation of getting hooked up.

If you do order from her, i hope she posts about what a dumb asshole you are on some message board.

Are you on the correct board? Is everything okay?

But...when they ask if I want green or red salsa, sometimes I'll ask if I can have both.

Does that make me an entitled jerk who just wants free shit.

Used to get asada tortas by default, but carnitas is now my go-to. Sorry I'm going off-topic.

El Gran Tako in Lexington used to have the best tortas. Crazy combos of with milanese, hot dogs, ham and a fried egg and the like. Dressed with beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado. True allsomeness.

Then the gringo hipsters found out about it and they took the unframed pictures of Mexican soccer teams down. And then the unframed pics of half naked women went. Then they painted it. The last time I was there, they were serving chips and salsa. Someone at the table next to me asked for something called queso. And the torta went downhill.

Shame.

I had never heard of carnitas for breakfast. Could be a thing though.

Take those tamales, cook up some potatoes, serve with green chili and an egg. Delicious.

Carnitas could be for breakfast. In a burrito, or the meat in chilaquiles, I would guess.

My family says Mexican breakfast (married into a Mexican family) and it means anything Mexican served with that fried egg.

Once again, reading this thread is throwing me into severe taco deprivation craving mode.

But then, I haven't had one since yesterday, so not surprising.

Scratched the Mexican cuisine itch this weekend. Still an enchilada guy, but a guy at a neighboring table was having carnitas, loading it in tortilla, then dipping it in some kind of soup. Looked like a chicken stock base, w green onions, cilantro and maybe hominy floating in it. Seemed blissful abt it.

Anyone have a clue what I was seeing?
