Weather forecast for KC on Sunday is calling for upper 50s and Sunny. Obviously sunshine pregame will become darkness come game time but watching it outdoors just might be bearable.

Prob bet pool advice please.......
There are 30 bets in the pool. The ones I am 50/50 on are......

During the game will Shanahan be wearing a hat or visor?
Combined number of songs sung during the halftime show (over/under 8.5) ("melodies" count as songs).
Higher number, combined receiving yards by Kelce and Kittle or total points scored in the Illinois/Iowa game? Kittle/Kelce -.05.
Higher number, catches by Hill or total goals scored in two English Premier matches? Hill -.05.

It was cool to see the Chiefs at Super Bowl Media Night.

Thought the Chiefs players and the 49ers players did really well in that setting and both teams respect each other.

Bet a bunch of Super Bowl prop bets this morning.

Over on National Anthem being 2 minutes.
Demi Lovato will NOT wear a skirt, dress or gown.
Over on National Anthem 1 minute 55 seconds.
Play Stands on result of First Coaches Challenge.
+105 on Mahomes being MVP.
A Sack will happen before a TD Pass.
Andy Reid will be first coached mentioned after kickoff.
Chiefs will be the first team penalized for pass interference.

Kinda wild that if you're a KU/KC person, there's a pretty great chance that, whether this year or one soon, you'll have had titles from KU, SKC, Royals and Chiefs, all in a 12ish year span.

Decent amount of people up here going for San Fran b/c of the Jimmy G connection...but also because I think they don't like the Chiefs.

I just found out that a friend of mine from long ago has a daughter, Katie Sowers, who, as an offensive assistant for the 49ers, is the first female football coach to coach in a Super Bowl game. She's from my old stomping grounds, Hesston, KS.

That came off wrong: knee Katie was from Hesston. Had no idea you were after reading your posts for last decade.

Seems a few on here from around the area.

Also from the Newton area and knew about both of the Sowers twins growing up. Kinda cool she is getting publicity and recognition for following her dreams. That still doesn't make me want to root for the Niners.

Remember meeting up with you last year and talking about you being from Hesston.

Quite a few of us here are from Central Kansas and we are a loyal bunch and follow KU with passion in the land of Shockers and kitty cats.

That said, the Sowers thing is cool. I remember that family. Good basketball players.

Entire family is Chiefs fans from what I recall in a recent article. Katie Sowers even has KC skyline tatted on her arm.

I lived in SF from 73-93 during the Montana/Rice/Clark/Craig era (also the Freddy Solomon QB days . . .) I'm all in for the Chiefs.

Katie and Liz both lived in KC for awhile before Katie got her gig in San Fran. Both of them played semi pro football in the womens circuit. Good family who really encouraged both of them to be who they wanted to be and do what they wanted to do.
I can remember watching them play ball in high school. I want to say Liz was the better player, starter from the beginning and Katie came off the bench. I could have got that wrong and it is the other way around, lol.

I've stayed away from the local and media coverage of the game but from the little I have been catching up on is it just me or has the national perception swung that the Chiefs are going to lose? I read that BR report last week that executives thought that the Chiefs would win big and now it seems that the Niners winning big is gaining steam.

This all could be the effect that two weeks is a long time to cover a single game...

I have a very hard time believing the Niners will win big. I understand the defense is very good, but the next time a healthy Mahomes is bad will be the first.

I have been avoiding any media regarding the game as well. I must get 10 articles a day on the CBS sports app.

A VERY long time.

Could be a lot of California people buying secondary tickets, which could mean a heavy SF crowd. Also lots of media/fans not liking the Chiefs confidence right now. Calling it cocky and arrogant. They just have confident players who like to talk about it.

I am excited for Sunday. It's hump day. The downslope of the week. My Chiefs are in the Super Bowl. Let's fucking roll.

I agree. Mahomes hasn't lost by more than 7 points in his 30+ starts.

It's either going to be a close Niners victory (4 points or so) or a Chiefs win by up to 14 points.

The narratives seem to be the Niners are better on both sides up front and because of that they are better team overall. Maybe that is right but I also believe that the Chiefs defense isn't getting as much credit either.

I like the Chiefs chances for the following reasons:
1. It really benefits the NFL's brand to have Mahomes front and center for everything. Winning a Super Bowl and most likely an MVP of the Super Bowl would go a long way in transitioning the end of the Brees, Rivers, Big Ben and soon Brady era to Mahomes.
2. I can't recall more people inside and outside of the NFL rooting for one coach, Andy Reid to finally get a ring.
3. Give Spags two weeks to come up with a game plan to slow the Niners down. I also like he has been in this position before with the Giants.
4. Andy Reid's record coming off what is really a bye week. See above #3.
5. The Chiefs defense still has something to prove especially against the run. They heard it against the Texans with Hyde, really heard it against Henry and now have to hear it again against the Niners.
6. Probably the most important and what I have consistently told my friends and family. The Chiefs have Mahomes. He will find a way to win. I don't know how but he will.
