Re: KU v ISU Game Thread
Last year I was one of the biggest fans of the Les Miles era and this year I have been one of his biggest critics but what I saw on Saturday was the best fight I have seen from this team all year. Yes, that is sad and quite defeating that I believe positives came from a 55+ to 20 something score but look at the players that got a majority of the snaps. If KU was getting their asses handed to them and it was all upper classmen we would have a real problem on our hands but against ISU the majority of the snaps and scoring was from freshman and sophomores. That I can live with because those guys are getting live reps against a pretty decent team and a potential NFL QB.
My biggest complaint earlier this year was that Les was playing QB roulette and playing upper classmen who quite frankly weren't getting the job done. Against ISU about three times I had to ask myself who in the hell was that making a play. I'm still not sure who in the hell that little white dude was, Grimm I think but he made some tough catches. Daniels is the QB1 for the future. The elimination of summer and spring ball was killer for this program and I am more inclined to believe the results may have been different had 'Rona not happened.
Right now this team just doesn't have the depth or talent to compete but at least on the field there are small signs that the future is looking brighter.
