Matt Tait mentioned he's heard some names and they have been surprising for sure. Not sure if better than expected or what..?
Dodd is usually plugged in locally. I bet his list is relatively close.

Interesting tweets here. 1. at least some players are wanting to stick around, 2. Some kind of announcement tonight?
Give me a fricking break if they "promote from the inside".
In the God damn announcement last night stating that Miles and KU have parted ways, Long claimed they "will begin the search for a new head coach immediately with an outside firm to assist in this process".
If they feel a need to hire an outside firm to hire someone who is already on the "inside" - then they sure as shit need to fire Long, and I say Girod might as well leave too.
Why can't the best option, even after a national search, be someone within the program? I think you explore all angles if you have the time and resources.
Girod fired . . . calm down man.

Lol, that makes more sense. I didn't even know he had a show.

Yeah that is true. He attended multiple Les pressers.
KU and KU fans would be thrilled with any of the top 3 names.

I have no idea who the best option is. Seems some on here feel if we do hire from within then we keep the majority of the recruiting class. Ok, but who is to say a new coach from the outside wouldn't get an even better recruiting class?
Yes, as an AD I would explore all angles but I don't feel I should need to hire an outside firm to help me find an employee - if the employee already works for me.
As far as Girod, I didn't say I felt he should be "fired".
What I tried to imply is that if he hires and allows an outside firm to help in the search and Long decides after the search that there was no one better that they could get than someone that was already under his nose - then fuck him (Girod).
Fair or not, I feel Girod bears some responsibility here as the head of the University that has a basketball program that very well may be facing some serious punishment and has a football program that just may be one of the worst (if not the worst) D1 programs in the country.
So what is HE doing about it? If he keeps the AD then all I can say is Pffft!

Girod is currently navigating through perhaps the largest budget crisis in the history of the University.
KUAC runs athletics and losing football games seems rather trivial.

Self-imposed death penalty ("the NCAA was so mad at Kansas basketball that..."). Full Memorial reno. Start over in 2024.

As the head of the ENTIRE university there is something to be said how all of this happened under his watch other than...'I trusted Jeff to run all of this. I was hands off and clearly that came back to bite me in the ass.'

I feel like if we go with the triple option that we will shoot for Monken and end up with Fritz.

Please. We'll miss on both and end up with Paul Johnson.

Although, I'd be OK with Skip Holtz, if he could fit in culturally.

Correct. Her and her twin sister, Liz Sowers. Her dad passed last year I want to say.
