As Newell pointed out, KU would be a 2nd round dog to USC...
We need Jalen back or an upset special.

Its Monday now.
Technically according to the rules you need 7 days of negative results to travel to Indy so if Jalen ( or whomever ) tested negative from here on out, couldn't they potentially arrive Sunday/Monday?

I am worried about this game a lot. USC is under seeded big time, similar to Wichita State and Northern Iowa in previous years. If we aren't at full strength and DMac is rusty we could be in serious trouble. USC has some big bodies like Texas does and we did not handle that well this season.

Would have preferred BYU, Colorado, Creighton...even Nova with their injury.

USC is under-seeded to be sure, but they've been in a bit of a rut; 4-4 in their last 8 with a loss and a close win against Utah (who isn't good). If that is who KU plays in the second round then I say bring those fvckers on.

KenPom has admitted there is a lack of data issue this season. Hard to fully rely on it.
3/6 is always a tough matchup.

Thats for people who continue to test negative. A player testing positive must be 11 days symptom free before they are eligible. Then, they must test negative 2 times 12 hrs apart before leaving their hotel room. If I scanned the protocol correctly.
Jalens done until the S16 minimum.

Eastern Washington
Big Sky Tournament Champions as the 2nd seed
110 Kenpom, 114 NET
Losses: @ Washington State, @ Arizona, @ Oregon
Best win: v Southern Utah
They played Washington State and Arizona close, both were 3 point losses, were blown out at Oregon.
The Eagles play relatively fast, with the 30th largest adjusted tempo in D1, are excellent free throw shooters as a team ( 79.9% 6th ) and shoot very well from 2PT range ( 54.2% 33rd ). They are one of the worst teams in the NCAA at forcing turnovers ( 302nd in the nation ).
Coach Shantay Legans took the Eagles to 1st place in the Big Sky last season before the tournament was cancelled.
He has a 75-48 (.610 ) record in 4 years.
Tanner Groves ( Spokane, WA ) is the Big Sky player of the year.
Junior 6'9 235, forward.
16.4 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 55.7% FG
Tyler Robertson ( Melbourne, AUS ) comes off the bench.
Sophomore 6'6 200, guard
11.3 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3 APG, 37.8% 3FG.
Tanner's younger bro Jacob plays on the team.
They play 7 guards in rotation and 1 forward, Tanner - though Jacob looks to play a forward's role, at 6'7.
Both brothers will shoot from 3.

This team seems very similar to the Northeastern team we saw when KU played in 2019. They could shoot average, but little to no size.
And KU won by damn near 40.

We haven't played a team that pushes the ball like EW since the Zags.
Obviously the Zags are a class of their own.
I wonder if we try to run with them as they haven't played a team as good as Kansas yet this year.

If you got their boy Tanner in foul trouble, that could be it.
And Tanner isn't way bigger than Mitch ( 10-15 lbs and an inch ) -- this is a game where if DMac is struggling after being out so long, that you could see Mitch doing alright against them, playing as our 5.

Would LOVE for KU to play fast. I think that is when they are at their best. When you get a rebound and just GO.
EW had close losses to some average Pac 12 teams. Lost by 17 to 7 seed Oregon.
Right now spread is KU -11. Would take KU anywhere from the 12-15 range.

Toughest bracket is KU’s again too. Must be coincidental. KU needs to run to win the tourney. Teams are not in the best of shape and half court games mean the randomness of officiating can Tom Brady your chances.

I think the East may be toughest.
Michigan might be hurting but still is 20-4 in the Big 10.
LSU and St Bonny are strong 8/9s.
Florida State had some argument to be a 3.
Izzo as an 11 is scary.
Texas won the B12 tournament.
Bama won the SEC tournament.

Tanner and Tyler look like they should be locked up for storming the capital on January 6th.
I see KU blowing this team out or I can see us in a dog fight because these guys are really good free throw and 3 pt shooters.
