I don't buy him as a NPOY candidate. I understand the odds are what they are.

Unless Edey gets hurt he is winning NPOY.
But Jalen is absolutely a 1st team AA candidate. And would be a lock if the voting was done today.

It's tough because his game doesn't
look like a typical all Americans game. But...his production is there.

I don't think he ends up 1st team AA but I do think he makes a team.
If we keep playing well that will certainly boost his stock.
He's shooting pretty poorly overall -- that said Vonte shot even worse and ended up 1st team.

Right now. I mean, we're not even halfway into this thing.
It's different from Och, because we knew that shooting stroke wasn't going to slow down. Kind of like Dick this season. I could see Dick leading us in Big 12 scoring.

I do think his numbers dip as I said early on in this thread but maybe not to 16 PPG but 18-19 PPG.
18.5 PPG and 8 RPG on a top 10 ( blueblood ) team might get you there.

right now, halfway into this thing is all we have to go on, and all we should be evaluating at this point. Not like we've played Missouri's schedule.
Not saying he will end up in the discussion at the end But he should be in there now. He has been better than I anticipated.

I get it and agree. It was just a (weird) way to say I think the raw averages take a hit and the production won't look as rosy when the votes go in, which is more than half a season away.
He's probably a nonconference season First Team AA.

This was about to be a ‘I will get my number in the rafters’ type night until Self and Juan went completely brain dead.
Kid was an absolute beast tonight. Single handily dragged along a lifeless unit tonight.

Jalen's really winning me over. His BBIQ has skyrocketed even in season.

Unfortunately Edey is going to run away with it unless he gets hurt.
But 1st team AA and rafters for JW.

Love Jalen. In these close games, he's just about the only player on the team that I trust can go put his head down and get a bucket. A few can hit big shots off the catch, but Jalen can go get his own. Stud.
