I think Coach Leipold would be a perfect fit for the old school Nebraska fans/alumni/boosters.

JFC..... I mean I tried to read through all that trash you guys talking but lord
Alright you freaking unbelievable sunshine boys. You really really need to think this through.
Neb is toast. I mean done. Wait it out and watch what happens. Frost was it. He was the answer to solve their Bten problem. Their is no other viable candidate. You tell me who I will tell why no chance.

2 things are true.
1. Leipold will take the job if offered. Who wouldn't?
2. I think Leipold is going to be, at best, the 5th option Nebraska is going to go for. Campbell, Kleiman, Rhule, Fickell, and Mark Stoops should all get calls before Leipold.
Lord you see the names you have. First of all they not getting Stoops Fickel Rhule Campbell

Yeah bro we 2-0 and we happy...our coach going nowhere so chill
By the way we have a QB. Best since Todd. Next level Heisman shit
Which is why we 2-0. The QB #1 rusher in UVW game??? yeah he badass
Dude all about the defense
If the transfers come together watch out.
It is possible that QB at UWV was the best QB we will face all year.
So from what I have seen bring it. Houston we can beat. Tech we can Beat. Tcu and Iowa st as well
Baylor yep Duke defense is better but we can win . That leaves UT OU Ostate kstate.
Going to take the defense but .....
We have a QB that will put us in any game against anyone..... Serious

My first guess is "sunshine boys" pretty much means sunny disposition in regards to the current state of the KU football program. Sunny day, no clouds in the sky, everything is beautiful.
My second guess is he may be referring to these guys...
Either way, 2-0 is good chicken and rainbows and unicorns.
I figure whoever Nebraska chooses, like KU pre Leipold, they can't do much worse than their predecessor/s. The problem the Corn coach will have is that simply making a bowl isn't good enough.
Not too sure there is anyone in the world who can coach mid and late 2020s Nebraska to be mid 1990s Nebraska.

Bottom line, if he's the type of coach to abandon his players mid season then he's not the kind of guy I'd want anyway.

Absolutely. My gut feeling is that Leipold at Nowledge U would look a lot like Solich 2.0, which would be a tremendous achievement but we saw how THAT ended. The thing about Leipold's ties to Nebraska is that while he is well versed in the Children of the Corn's tradition and history, he likely also fully appreciates how impossible that fan base is. Does that temper his desire to 'go home'? Can't say.

Did I say they are getting them? No, I said calls. But I guarantee one of the coaches on the list will get some contract terms thrown their way.

And tbh, i think it's shitty when schools fire coaches mid season, assuming it's not off field disciplinary type reasons.

Agree. Just let the guy finish the season out. Even worse he's an alum that played for the Cornholes as a star QB. They should go after Turner Gill...lol.

Your last point is the one major drawback. I knew that Leipold coached under Solich at UNL, but it didn't occur to me how right you are how much Leipold would be like hiring another Solich. Therefore, I now would think Leipold is several spots down on their list. Although, I also think he is exactly what they need more than any other candidate that's been mentioned.
But, we know that home ties for a family are so strong for coaches that Bill Self took an interview with Oklahoma State after winning a natty at Kansas. And then on top of that, in this situation, between the programs, support, and conference, UNL and KU football are a lot like night and day.
