There are just four Jayhawks after Danny that averaged more than that for their career.

Can we name them?
Yes, to me - "only". Especially when I think of Danny's last game in a KU uniform.
I could be wrong but my guess is there aren't too many guys over 6-8 that stayed in school more than 1 season that were drafted #1 that averaged less than 8.1 rebounds.

The answer to your trivia question is.... My guess is you are wrong and there are/were more than 4.
If you're right, I'm going to go with Wilt, Raef, Bridges, and after that, it's a crap shoot. I'll guess maybe one of the following - Robisch, Mokeski, Ostertag, Aldrich.
I didn't know that Wilt played after Danny. Or Bridges.
I see where the confusion is though.
There are just four Jayhawks that came after Danny that averaged more than that for their career.
I edited my post after I realized my stupid mistake.
I'll guess Raef, Simien, Gooden, and Aldrich.

I respectfully disagree.
His Freshman or Sophomore seasons he had at least 5 teammates who were either drafted in the NBA or played in the NBA. Granted, the NBA Draft had more than 2 rounds back then. ;)
What's surprising to me is that Danny only averaged 8.1 rebounds and only averaged 2.3 assists per game in college.
oh yea, Clint Normore was a beast.....
Without Clint Normore there is a darn good chance there would be one less National Championship banner hanging in Allen.
I'm just sayin'.
absolutely,

It wasn't coincidence that I picked him.

I suppose my wording was incorrect but he had 5 players during his Freshman and Sophomore seasons (combined) who were either drafted, played, or both, in the NBA.
Drieling - 2nd round pick
Hunter - played 1 minute in the NBA
Kellogg - 2nd round pick
Thompson - 4th round pick
Marshall - 3rd round pick

The NBA had more than 2 rounds in the mid 1980s.

According to sportsreference.com Danny averaged 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

according to sports reference there are only 3. A 4th over 8.1 since Danny doesn't exist.

Unless it's some weird deal where the guy only played 2 games or something.

A hint - he has recently been compared to our two million dollar man Dickinson in terms of how some think his stats might be empty.

Another hint, he only played one season.

Well, peeking at that, to go along with the narrative, likely Dedric's best game was a loss to unranked Zona State ( Remy's squad ).

Dedric is actually the leader in career RPG ( helps he didn't have to earn his minutes as an underclassman ) at KU since the 3 point line was invented, and is the only Jayhawk in that time period to average double digit rebounds for his career.

Dedric 10.2
Gooden 9.2
Raef 9.1
Simien 8.3
Manning 8.1

Embiid 8.1
Collison 8
Dok 7.9
mystery man not guessed yet
Aldrich 7.7

Can anyone guess mystery man?
He might surprise you.

it's OK, they're optional, you'll get the answers ahead of time and no matter what you answer, it's correct and you win.

consistent with todays academic standards!
