"Enthusiasm" to vote - which I'd certainly say can be evidenced by early voting figures - is not the same thing as "enthusiasm" arising from the surprise announcement of a VP candidate.
Right! I am indeed mixing concepts.
Kind of like your kids enthusiasm about the birthday presents they opened months ago was mixing concepts.
But....
In regards to correlation, I think the "enthusiasm" to vote, that we were being told about in August (per the link I provided), are being told about today, and will be told about on November 4th (the day before the election), will have been overstated. At least the enthusiasm to vote for Kamala Harris (and Tim Walz).
I know most on here hope I am wrong. I probably hope I'm wrong too.
I think it is certainly true that you are not enthusiastic. I think it is also certainly true that, no matter what, the Rs are going to try to paint a picture of waning D enthusiasm - and we KNOW, on election night, that the moment the election will be "over" (to the Rs, and Trump) is going to be a matter of convenience.

To the Rs, there are only two possible outcomes, whether on election night or at any time afterward: Trump won legitimately, or the Ds cheated.

It is very important to understand - including for purposes of separating the wheat from the chaff over these final two weeks - that a legitimate Harris victory is simply not something that is within the universe of possible, to the Rs and Trump.

What's funny is when Trump states that Dems arent enthusiastic about voting while then also complaining about "how did so many people vote for this Dem." He convinces himself that the only way they get votes is by cheating so that when people go out and vote it can be written off as fake news.

I am VERY enthusiastic about getting rid of Donald Trump. I voted in person the 2nd day of early voting because I couldn't wait to vote against him and his MAGA cohorts in Don Bacon and Deb Fischer.

Many Trump supporters with small followings promoted the post as a bombshell revelation about the conduct of Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate toward students when he was a teacher, one made credible because there was seemingly a named accuser who had attended a school where Walz taught.

Sheeple!!

Then you greatly underestimate the number of people who feel that Donald Trump has committed dozens of disqualifying acts, which he obviously has.

You're duped. And you greatly underestimate the number of people who care more about a safe country and a solid economy than whether or not someone says or tweets mean things.

If you think that Donald Trump's announced plans will make our economy better then it's you that is duped, not me. How much do you think the financial cost of his mass deportation plan would be? And then the associated cost of the impact to the housing and food industries alone?!?

What specific policy idea of Trump's do you believe will improve the economy? His tariffs?!?

Republicans have considered large voter turnouts to be kryptonite for them going back decades. If you don't believe me, you're kidding yourself.

But the whole doubt your fellow Americans and America's institutions, which Russian propaganda has promoted for decades, didn't really seem to become part of the Republican playbook until Putin poodle Trump arrived, enabled massively by social media. Talk about "luck"! It turns out, suppressing the vote, suppressing the will to care to vote, and destroying Americans' faith in their institutions by Republicans and their Russian helpers dovetail quite nicely. Yay!?

Gutter is a fine example of the fruits of their labor.
I'm slow, can/will you please elaborate on why you feel I am an example of the fruits of their labor.

While I am actually happy Tim Walz called out Musk, it was kind of out of the Donald Trump playbook, and Tim has pulled off the "dip shit" act himself.
