What I do know is... As someone who has spent time with Morris Dees (in Chicago at an event honoring my father) and the members of the band the Black Israelites (in Jerusalem) I made an effort to learn about the beliefs and objectives/motives of the "Black Hebrews".
Yes, no doubt the guys standing outside the Capitol harassing the Catholic kids are assholes. My question is are all the "Black Hebrews"? I know people who have beliefs that I completely disagree with but I still think they are decent people and I have no problem being friends with them.

My "equating" was that I feel people are quick to judge an entire religion/race/nationality/school/whatever based on the actions of a few individuals. I think you agree with me in that regard. Maybe you don't.

I admit I could be wrong on this, but it was my understanding that Warren believed she had Native American blood based on family lore. It was a part of her upbringing that, while she had no proof, she was told she was of this ancestry. She did a 23-and-me and found out she was wrong.

she DOES have native ancestry, just a minuscule amount. the argument that it isn’t enough is BS, imo, because there is a ton of variation in what constitutes native heritage amongst the tribes/bands themselves...some require at least 1/16th to qualify, some require 1/2

A failing of Elizabeth Warren is that she surrounds herself with people from the Harvard/Yale world that she belongs to, who don't know anything about politics, and she backs herself into corners. She doesn't seem to be a pathological liar like Trump, but DC is correct, she lied on the Bar Card.

But, mostly she did a terrible job of dealing with it when Trump tapped her for it. She gets bad advice from her advisers and then follows it.

I mean...I posted a picture of her actual Texas bar card, on which she lists her "Race" as "American Indian." Even if she were 1/16 Cherokee -- which she isn't -- she isn't Cherokee, because she does NOT have a direct ancestor on the Dawes Rolls. She flat out lied. And you can blame me all you want for it, but it doesn't change the fact that her direct ancestors killed Cherokee and settled illegally on Cherokee land, and then she stole Cherokee identity to suit her own purposes -- whatever they may be.

That's NOT disingenuous. It's factual.

It doesn't mean she's a worse person than Donald Trump. And it doesn't mean that she should barred from public life. But it is a lie, bald-faced and inexcusable.

Which, of course, is why she apologized for it.
