The unemployment numbers released this morning are way better than they expected. Compared to a year ago, of course they suck. But they are way better than expected.

Can’t you people just accept some good news as good news and leave it at that.

If there is 20% more wealth and .01% control 99% of it, is that good news or bad news?

If a rise in number of infections is what you consider good news the “yay”?

Dear Leader blew the whistle and asked you to post celebratory messages, it looks like. While the “mass gathering” from the protests are what you’re likely referring to the spike we’re seeing now is undoubtedly from the “celebration” during the Memorial Day weekend

They were wrong and not corrected for much of the day. They didn’t count furloughed workers as unemployed. Sure jumped on the return to work. The revised numbers are bad.

CNNs "health expert" just said these protests pose no added risks for transmission and are fine to be attended. But, we should still heed strict guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing.

Well which the fuck one is it? Cant be both.

They admit that they are being “Selective”. It appears to be a list of infections and “preventable” conditions. For instance, suicide is not on there and may point to chronic mental health issues. Also the footnote states these are only about 7% of deaths.

Very interesting, nonetheless.

City of Chicago is allowing outdoor seating only. So please tell me how these places where I see as many as 20 people at the same tables and tables within 2-3-4 feet of each other are not a concern but indoor tables with limits of 4 people per table that are 8-9-10 feet apart are a concern. I'm not sure what the rules are for outdoor seating but I thought they were 4 people per table max and at least 6 feet apart. The places I am seeing are not following those rules - if they are the rules.

Rooftop in my building is open. Requirements include you MUST wear a mask. Who the fuck wants to wear a mask on a rooftop? Especially if you want to get some sun on your face and body. Well, a rule is a rule and yet yesterday when I went up there - all 6 people that I could see (only looked on one of the four sides of the rooftop) were NOT wearing masks. I didn't say a word but last night I spoke with one of the security ladies in my building and I told her, I don't have a problem with people not wearing masks - until they close the rooftop. Then people like me who are reluctantly following the rules get fucked by those who didn't.

Another issue is that it's now a city "ordinance" that you must wear a mask in a public building. Being that my building is huge and houses a day care center, a cleaner, and offices, it is a requirement that you have to wear a mask in the "common areas" of the building. I would guess close to 50% of the people I have seen in the building over the weekend were NOT wearing masks. Someone needs to enforce the "ordinance" or this building's management very well could get nailed by someone who "reports" them. Management seems to not care because they are not enforcing it.

Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but my calendar reminds me we were supposed to leave on a ten-day Asia trip today. Sigh.

First time I lost my shit on someone regarding mask wearing.
Sitting in a park watching an older (I’m guessing young 70s) woman harassing people for not wearing masks. She was actually blocking people running on a running track. I’m sitting on a bench a good 20 feet away from everyone and she started going off on me. I told her politely that masks are NOT required if people are outdoors and you are at least 6 feet away from others. She continued yelling at me and others for not wearing masks. I asked her if she would like to read my phone that specifically details what the requirements are and she said YOUR WRONG!!!! I told her to stop harassing me and others or I will have to call the police. She backed off and walked away after yelling at us to put on masks. I have a video I’ll try and post later. Fucking Nancy! :)

Good for you bro.

For every fish with the perspective to realize a missed travel opportunity is small potatoes and sigh it off, there are a whole big awful lot more of y’all who are all like WE’RE GOING ON THIS VACATION NO MATTER WHAT!

Town up here is a zoo right now.

A friend’s family came up from kc and their first observation was, “man it’s crazy how many folks in Colorado are actually wearing masks!”
