The Worst People in the World...
Re: The Worst People in the World...
Oh man, kinda disappointing, I thought EmployedOusdahl would have a new job, not the same ol' fishing gig.

Re: The Worst People in the World...
Not sure if it was reluctance as much as a desire to be thorough so that you don't screw up and lose the case. It could never happen fast enough from the community's perspective but it could happen too quick from a court's perspective. You miss one little thing that results in the guy walking free on a technicality and the blow back would be out of control.ousdahl wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 2:11 pm for real.
not that previous cases of cops killing people of color haven't been egregious, but this one just seems particularly so.
I kind of wonder what prosecuting a cop to the fullest extent of the law would do.
but rather than say, "we want to make an example of this one in an attempt to discourage future police brutality," they were still reluctant to even arrest.

I think sadly DC might be correct.
And if so, burn it all down.

Re: The Worst People in the World...
what makes you guys think he’ll walk?
Is there some particular detail?
...besides the fact cops walk for killing people of color all the fucking time...

Trump and republicans wettest dream is for him to walk ASAP, before Nov. 3, 2020.

Now, don't get pissy with me. I'm not saying he should walk. And I'm not saying this is a good excuse. This, in fact, is WHY you don't put your knee on a guy's neck, even if you know it won't choke him to death. Cuz a guy with hypertensive heart disease just might fucking die anyway. I'm just saying that this -- plus a toxicology report, if there's anything in it -- will be an issue.

The argument will be he died with chauvin on his neck, not because chauvin was on his neck.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 3:34 pm Now, don't get pissy with me. I'm not saying he should walk. Yeah, I just saw that, too. Man, this will be an interesting case for sure.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 3:34 pm Now, don't get pissy with me. I'm not saying he should walk. Again, if he walks, just burn it.

You brought up "medication" earlier, is that fair game now?

Certainly makes factual causation tougher, but prosecutors will find someone pretty easily to tie it together.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 3:34 pm Now, don't get pissy with me.
