Why is Chauvin’s mom addressing the court?

“My son is a good keed, if you sentence him you sentence me too”

Its odd. Thats all.
i don’t think it’s odd at all

statues have been erected for much less worthwhile reasons, imo
My god you'll try to argue with some of us about ANYTHING.

Pretty sure this is where you usually ask people for specific examples. So which statues specifically have been erected for much less worthwhile reasons?
Every statue of Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee

Wow. IMO, on the heavy end for 2nd degree, especially when there was no argument for 1st degree.

Boy, wouldn't he like a redo of that day...

A power trip gets him sent to prison for much of the rest of his life.

I understand this sentence is actually more than normal? Good!

Between that and the pending federal charges (both for the Floyd incident and a separate but eerily similar incident between Chauvin and a 14 year old in ‘17), dude might be behind bars the rest of his life.

Wait - what’s the sentencing guidelines for the federal charges?

If only I wuz holding something in my hand right now that I could use to look these things up…

Extrapolating from the 281 known DNA exonerations in the US since the late 1980s, a conservative estimate is that 1% of the US prison population, approximately 20,000 people, are falsely convicted

And if you broke that 1% down, I’d bet certain demographics have been wrongfully convicted at a greater rate than others…

While horrible and inexcusable, I wonder what the percentage is of people who have committed heinous crimes and never spent a day in jail. I'm guessing upwards of 20%.
