All complaining aside, it's a wonderful thing to expect to win. Coach Fambrough would be thrilled at the state of this program. Rock Chalk Jayhawk diehard KU football fans!

It is great that it came down to execution. I thought Bean played great, but the staff put him in some bad situations. Their linebackers had begun to cheat back and there were some run friendly schemes they missed that could have helped Bean.

Ok.
Hishaw and Neal, sans that great run, did nothing.
Bean accounted for all our points.

Again, over 550 yards of yards offense for OSU and Bean is the issue.

Lolzboat.

Yeah, 32 points is enough to win. Defense didn't do their job. Special teams had a rough night as well.

Really, Gordon was the biggest difference in the game.

Thank you.
( should have been 35 if we could kick an xp )

Oh, I'm not blaming Bean; this loss was by far the defense's fault.

More than one group, or person to blame.

Bean sucked late, though, when it mattered.

Perhaps there is more than one cause for losing this one.

But, that would go against internet logic, so I don’t dare offer that stance here. Don’t wanna disagree too loudly with certain folks. They get touchy.

Bean had a poor 4th.
I’d say our coaching staff had an even worse second half.
And our defense had an even worse game. We are not good at tackling.

This.
( though, maybe not expected is the right word, but if I had to make a bet I would have favored OSU )

We competed well against a good team and are showing that we could improve on our win total from last season despite again having to play with our backup QB.

The game started out so rough down 14-0 in a blink of an eye, but after that we settle down. Take the lead into half time and score first TD in second half. We control the game on the road in the Big 12. We didn't finish. The mo flipped on the Bean interception in the end zone. OSU's defensive strategy was to shut down the run and they did. Their QB play was the best of the year and Gordon was a beast. We still should have won.

Very rarely do you see something in a game you never have seen before. That Fairchild first TD was one of those moments. Fairchild leaks out uncovered wide open for TD. So OSU defense fall asleep??? A player miss his assignment?? Bad call by DC?? Well actually a genius play design. FAIRCHILD lines up on left side in tackle splot why the real left tackle goes over and lines up on the right side in the slot. The OT in the slot is covered and FAIRCHILD is uncovered. Boom TD.

Never seen that play and not 100% how it's not an illegal formation but the OT in the slot is ineligible receiver for sure.

Defense was an issue. But no huddle teams exceed 70 or 80 plays. OSU had been set up to win the conference based on their schedule. Really, really sweet home games after a bye and easy road games. Hate to lose a game based on nerves, but it really came down to that

All this talk about Defense being the problem.

Of winning teams in big12 yesterday, our 32 only beats one.

The offense was great for a half yesterday. We lost second half 15-7. Our defense wasn’t bad in the second half. Perfect? No, we missed two Ints in the half for sure, and it did look like a couple players were playing touch football instead of tackle on a few plays.

But, to expectations, this game is on the offense, whether you want to give blame to players or coaching staff is your choice.

Spotting them 14 didn't help. And they rammed it down our throats on those 2 drives. But the formula for the talent we have is to win a shootout. We didn't.

Untimely bad officiating calls, untimely bad play calls, untimely missed blocks, untimely missed tackles, untimely blown coverages, and untimely turnovers (I guess any time those things happen it's untimely). We are just not good enough to overcome that.

550 plus yards bro.
Bean had a better QB rating than anything Daniels has done this season. In fact, a better rating than any game Daniels has ever had sans the Duke shootout.

If you can’t see that our defense was bad yesterday and Bean not bad then that’s on you.

I know Bean wasn’t bad in the first half. He was incredible.

The defense was porous, but they tightened. Especially if you erase the 14-0 jumpstart. Yes, there were still breakdowns, and yea, as previously stated, two-three INTs were dropped, which did not help at all.

At end of game, Bean was bad. He didn’t do his job then, when it mattered, by most accounts, the most.

I know the stats and respect the first half. I think I even said in one of my posts I was happy to see him get some prep time and what he could do with it. But then a return to what has been more his norm from my empirical experiences.

I like him, and hope he continues to get better (Daniels coming back seems unlikely, right?), but I don’t trust him to finish things against good competition. Because, with one exception, that hasn’t existed.

I am in agreement with the sentiment that arguing about how good we are is way better than almost universally agreeing on how bad we are.

The fact of the matter was we got the ball to the 50 with 6 minutes left in the game up 2 and our coach decided not to punt it largely because he couldn’t trust our defense. The Cowboys encroached/were offsides, the officials didn’t call it and we turned it over on downs because they got pressure with not one but two of them starting early.

And then our defense let them score a touchdown. Why let the defense off the hook here? Oklahoma State ran it every play but one and we couldn’t do anything about it, much like the entire game, where we allowed over 200 yards rushing at 5.7 yards per carry.
