depends what you would classify as heinous

Good point. I was thinking along the lines of rape, child molestation, and murder but I suppose I should expand my list of "heinous" crimes to include many if not most felonies that physically, mentally, and financially harm others.

That others walk freely who properly belong behind bars has NO bearing on the injustice of an improperly convicted person being behind bars.

That others walk freely who properly belong behind bars has NO bearing on the injustice of an improperly convicted person being behind bars.

Deflection or not, as I said, I feel it's horrible and inexcusable - when a person is convicted and put behind bars when they are/were innocent.
Unfortunately I somewhat disagree on the bearing and feel in some cases if those who are guilty of committing crimes were convicted, less innocent people would be accused of committing crimes they didn't commit.

Deflection or not, as I said, I feel it's horrible and inexcusable - when a person is convicted and put behind bars when they are/were innocent.

That's something we can live with to the extent it is part of the overall policy of not overcharging/convicting and wrongly imprisoning people. Those are the types of things that separate us from our less-evolved ancient ancestors.
