I'm not the one who said men who let men suck on their penis can't be manly.
Also lonestar, keep the commentary out of the GTS threads. Tia.
You suck as a Kansas fan...better?
You shouldn't pay such close attention to GTS scores days before the game. I usually change my mind a time or 2.
And if guessing for us to lose in GTS sometimes means I suck as a Kansas fan then I guess I'm guilty as charged.

I meant, if you were really a Kansas fan, you would suck as a Kansas fan for picking Kansas to lose...
Feel even better?

Oddly enough I feel exactly the same as before.

Will his speech be recorded and played on the video board? It’s a fair question.

I'm old enough to remember when Jeff Hawkins started his senior speech out with an apology.

I had almost completely forgotten about Hawkins. I remember being nervous every time he had the ball. I have to admit, I seriously doubted Self in early 2005. I didn't want him "fired", but I was worried. And to make matters worse, UNC was really good that year and Roy's move paid off. I was really bitter that year. Thankfully in 2006, I finally understand what he was trying to do with our program.

We also played a good Baylor team with Vick. And won.
And a good ISU team with Vick. And won.
And a great Tech team ( i'd say our best win ) with Vick. And won.
And a mediocre TCU team with Vick. And won.
And a decent OU team with Vick. And won.
And a 'mediocre' ( they're a bit better than mediocre in my book ) Texas team with Vick. And won.

"...then letting a senior pack up and go home in the middle of conference play?"
It's possible that Vick had a legitimate issue and had to leave. Until evidence comes out otherwise, this assumptive statement by a number of posters is hogwash.
"but maybe it really was for the better."
I'm down with maybe. I'm just not down with absolutely and the, 'hey look at us now, we're squeaking out road wins against bottom of the b12 teams, problem is solved'.

dangit, okay okay...
I think it's even
likely that Vick had some legitimate issue - or at least legitimate enough.
I think it went something like, Self was pissed at Vick, called him out for lack of focus/violating the terms of return, and Vick points to some personal issue as an excuse. And Self, already considering suspension or dismissal, simply says "ok then go deal with it" and saves face for everybody.
and as far as evidence otherwise, how much evidence has accumulated over the years that Vick
was a problem? How many doghouse visits? How many benchings? How many Laura Bauers?
and just generally, let's not dismiss what an anomaly it is for a player to take a leave in the middle of the season. Especially for a senior on an otherwise young, struggling team. I think that could be evidence in itself that something was up.
The only way it seems like less of an anomaly is once you consider the context: a player with a history of problems, already subjected to strict terms, just to return for a senior year.
now for real, is there anywhere we can discuss Brazilian waxing?

Possible theory.
No one knows for sure.

still a more possible theory, and with more evidence, than claiming there are all these fans saying "Vick is gone, YAY! we're absolutely better! our problems are solved!"
(oh, and not no one knows for sure. Self knows)

"Looks like we didn't kick Vick off the team early enough. 6-4 with him. 5-1 without him."
