Voting results says there may have been 74 million Americans (or were they?) that fit those categories in 2020.

Annie was reading a story in disgust this morning. An interview of a trump voter. His most important issues were the economy and inflation. Good enough. The journalist asked the guy to explain how tariffs work and how trump's support of the same would help. He calmly said that China would pay the tariffs. The journalist then explained how tariffs would work and their effect on inflation. Interviewee's head explodes. He seemed to think he had been duped.

Maybe it was a fake interview, maybe they did this to fool trump supports into thinking tariffs and tax cuts would be inflationary when, they really will be counter inflationary.

My wife asked how dumb is trump to believe tariffs help? My guess is he is not that dumb, but his tax cut and tariff policies would seem to indicate that he thinks his voters are pretty dumb.

Maybe someone on here who is worried about inflation and the economy can inform me on how tax cuts for everyone making over $400K a year, and large tariffs on everything coming into this country from China, and how deporting millions of immigrants and migrants will reduce inflation and lower costs and make the economy better for the average Joe?

Those three things seem to pretty much sum up trump's economic plan or did I miss something?

I pretend to understand economics but I really only had one class on it in college. Maybe I am missing something? That won't surprise me.

Because the person who did get those votes later dropped out of the race. Biden's endorsement to replace him is all that is needed for those electors to select him. This isn't complicated, illegal, or undemocratic. We've told you this dozens of times already so it appears that you have simply chosen not to listen.

Get randy to explain how Presidents who did not get a majority of the vote (multiple times) got to nominate a majority of the judges on the Supreme Court, who were in turn confirmed in spite of being rejected by Senators who represented a majority of people

And which Justices and Senators then proceeded (and proceed still) to pull the ladder up behind them and poison the democratic process on a local, state and national level.

It’s not “complicated, illegal, or undemocratic,” but it very much is damaging to Randy’s hopes of Trump II.

Are you trying to say that the many-times-over failed businessman… who only profited off of being a reality show host… wasn’t the guy who knows more about how business works than anyone in history?

Thanks Kamala and Joe!

S&P, Dow close at record highs as market enters year two of bull run

Wall Street's benchmark S&P 500 index (SP500) crossed and finished above the 5,800 level for the first time on Friday, with bank stocks leading the charge, pushing into a new year of a bull run for the market.

The S&P 500 (SP500) landed the new milestone just before marking the second year of the market's bull run on Saturday. Friday's marquee winners were JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC), despite both lending giants reporting a Y/Y decrease in quarterly net income.

The S&P (SP500) +0.4% and finished at 5,815.04. The blue-chips Dow gauge (DJI) +0.97%, also reaching a fresh closing high, at 42,863.86. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) +0.3%.

“Now two years old, the bull market from the October 2022 lows continues to surprise to the upside," Alex King, investing group leader of Cestrian Capital Research, told Seeking Alpha.

...The S&P 500 (SP500) has jumped ~63% from its bear-market low of 3,577.03 on October 12, 2022. This week, it logged a five-week win streak for the first time since May...

IMO, Walgreens stores have always been way too heavily inventoried and coupon crazy. Has one of us ever shopped there and not wondered why they have so much inventory and relatively low traffic count?

Small pop up businesses were doomed the minute they started loading up and moving up during the Covid Hump.

There are a LOT of folks in my industry that are struggling mightily…. Much more from overhead than lack of sales.

The short answer is that the business model didn’t, at least when I worked there, care.

The pharmacy side runs (and profits) all by itself, and the retail side relies on heavy markups of goods and products that are, with very very rare exception (a stand of bread, maybe) nonperishable or at least shelf-stable.

That business model works especially well in so-called food deserts, where even those heavily marked up frozen/processed/packaged “groceries” are more than someone - someone who needs medications, especially, which is everyone - would find at a corner store or bodega.

In comparison, CVS stores have 3.6% operating Margin over the past 12 months.

Walgreens is at -1.4%.

Below 2.5%, in retail, is the dead zone.

As we all know, these 2 companies are usually across the street from each other...so demographics, traffic count, etc. should be a level playing field.

Kamala going on Fox is gonna be fun. The woman's got balls.

trumpty plumpty is gonna shit himself, during and after. He will be unhinged by this.

Which will prove of course that he is the most qualified to be POTUS, and run naked in traffic with the nuclear football.

Meanwhile, Trump today backed out of an interview with CNBC.

His handlers are, for good reason, hiding him and his towering character and cognitive defects.

Scary smart; integrity in every fiber: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/comment/ ... -her-camp/

“That Harris has been accused of lifting entire passages without attribution from elsewhere threatens to compound her existing reputation for being vacuous. The disgraced former Harvard president Claudine Gay might have been sloppy, but Harris looks just plain out of ideas.

The contrast with her Republican rival, vice-presidential hopeful JD Vance, could hardly be greater. He first gained prominence after he wrote an era-defining bestseller that was subsequently adapted into an Oscar-nominated movie. Hillbilly Elegy, ostensibly a memoir of Vance’s hardscrabble upbringing, was beloved by liberals who viewed his insightful analysis into the causes of white working class disaffection as a palatable explanation for the rise of Trumpism.”

Unburdened by what has been. Giggle.

Remember biden? They literally had a senile puppet as President and lied to your face about it for years. Then when too many people caught on, they sabotaged his campaign internally and replaced him, in what was basically a coupe

And then dem voters wanna tell the rest of us how to vote....
