Fewest deaths today since March.
Yeah, but it’s the 4th of July.
Serious/critical stats ticking back up.
I hope the one day super-low number is maintained, but I’m not sure how it will.
I’m nervous for what rest of week brings in this regard. I’m prolly wrong and worry too much about things like math regarding how this works, but it does not seem good.

Looks like you're right, I think I was celebrating too early. At least 800 deaths today

If mortality rates are even at 2%, we should start seeing 1k+ a day real quick. Maybe even by end of today. Last state usually publishes data at ~6 mountain.

My painter (who has a crew but also has his two 'social' sons living with him) was ill and was tested last Thursday. Found out today he's clean. Hallelujah! We wear masks on the job and there is plenty of hand sanitizer on the job, but damn, what a relief.

Do people expect perfect accuracy?
There was a time when if you had a positive HIV test, which only had 5% false positive rate, there was a better chance you were negative than positive even if that 95% accurate test said you had it.
Probabilities are more complex than they appear.

Who would have guessed that this combination was not going to end well:
1 - Big senior demographic
2 - Lots of travel into/out of region
3 - Near intolerance for altruistic/social thinking
4 - Allergic response to anything that can be perceived as Democrat
5 - Rejection of science/assumption that "dry heat" would kill the virus

Least it would leave them self-quarantined at home for a couple weeks, I assume.

Early on, I rejected the notion that the US would restrict travel within the continental 48 and shut off areas the way other countries did--just felt cars and freedom were too valued.
Now, it's starting to happen all over the country. Kansas, which hits everything but #2 on your list, was just added to several states' lists of places whose residences can't enter the state without quarantine.
Great work all around here.

My company has delayed return to work until who knows when. Was supposed to go back August 24th, but looks like it will be at least late September or beyond. Then you get into the fvckin flu and cold season and every cough is going to have people jumping out of their chairs and choking the air with Lysol.

Counting paternity leave, I haven’t been in my office since Feb 24. I don’t see a return anytime soon either...
