KU basketball's two 2019 early signees are on the rise according to the latest incarnation of the Top247 — the final such overhaul to the rankings.

Issac McBride, a combo guard from Arkansas, began the day ranked just outside the top 200 in the Top247. He boosted up to the No. 150 spot in the rankings. McBride was previously the No. 117-ranked recruit in the 247Sports Composite, which factors in several major recruiting services. He is now the No. 107-ranked recruit by the composite.

Christian Braun, on the other hand, was ranked No. 232 in the Top247 and as the No. 130-overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is now the No. 133-ranked recruit in the Top247 and No. 101-ranked prospect in the 247Sports Composite.

Here is a closer look at each player...

If anyone has Grimes anywhere but 3rd on their list, they didn't watch KU basketball last year.

And I'm normally one to take the bird in hand option, putting a lot of stock in experience and familiarity in the system, and being skeptical about the potential of HS players or transfers.

I saw this, I wanted to make a trolling thread about how our recruiting class just got a lot better.

I mean, does it mean anything. Are their rankings just going up because they're going to KU, or for some tangible reason?

Yep. I'm normally the complete opposite. Maybe I'm blinded by this last season but I'll trade Grimes for Hampton or tucker anyday.

I'd trade him for the equivalent of a Connor Teahan/Merv Lindsay package deal after last season.

If we got Dotson and Grimes back and neither Tucker or Hampton, I'd still be pretty damn pleased with our backcourt. I think we'd have to play a lot of small ball with Dotson, Ochai, Grimes, Garrett out there with Dok/McCormack but that, along with a bench of our two freshmen guards and Lightfoot, would be a good enough team for Self to get after the B12 and a 1-3 seed.

If we land either of them then KU will be a much better team next year. Land both and we are an excellent team next year.
Heard a comp for Tucker from some basketball writer, can't remember who. But mentioned that he is a more offensively refined Mario Little. Good rebounder and defender like Little, but a better shooter than what Little was.

Little a good defender? He always played the 4 because he was too slow to keep guards in front of him.

Here they come... chairs are gonna start filling soon. RJ Hampton now expecting to decide by end of May. Keeps pushing it earlier and earlier. Guys are getting jumpy and ready for the early entry guys to stay or come back and everything will fill in quickly.

This announcement came out of no where and I like it.

Seems people believe that Daniels will make his prediction a month or so outside of an official announcement so RJ by the end of May sounds good.

Keep proving me wrong.
